I just wanted to share a few tries of dark shots that I have taken the last couple days. I haven't done any serious post on them yet (especially noise reduction) as I'm on a 13" laptop with pretty much no editing software but I'm kinda cool with how they came out. I'm still having a bit of a focusing issue due to the open lens but I'm getting there.

I also did a fireworks test to see about settings and the ND filter. It was a last minute decision to do this hence the crappy spot. I set up next to a Photopass photographer on the Tomorrowland Bridge (MK was packed!!). She was extremely nice and gave me pointers and things. She said to come back Wednesday and ask for her before the Electrical Parade. Then she'll help me set up at the train station if I want for both. What do you guys think? Shall I try it?

12 seconds with a ND0.9 filter

I am on my iPad right not so its a little tough to tell.

The fireworks bursts look really good to me. Very nice color

I tried to look at the exif info on the dark ride shots and I didn't have that option turned on in flickr. With that said I couldn't see the ISO and aperture. The nemo and haunted mansion shots look super noisy. I know you have not run them through post so I would love to see how those turn out after that.

I think you are off to a good start and am interested to see more.

I also attempted to look at the exif data...and was unable to obtain any info on aperture and ISO. I agree that the shots are very noisy, they can be cleaned up in post...but it will be at the expense of losing clarity.

I would be curious about the camera used, lens, aperture, ISO, and shutter speed.

To the OP...have fun and keep on shooting. :thumbsup2 My wife and I are leaving for WDW in the next couple of days, and I am looking forward to lots of dark ride shooting.

Huh that's weird that the exif doesn't show for you guys. I can see it. Is there a setting I need to turn on in Flickr so you can see it as well?

I shot these with a Canon 300D, ISO 1600, f1.8 and mostly a shutter speed of between 1/60 (Spaceship Earth and Figment) and 1/40 (Nemo and Haunted Mansion). I wish I had gotten my 60D back from repair, it handles noise much better.

On a side note, the fireworks were done with my finger on the shutter for 12 secs (bulb) cause I forgot the remote in the car.... I'm really surprise how crisp it came out still!

Very nice shots. Can't help noise when using a somewhat older camera. Was it a 50mm lens?

Yes there is . Under Settings then click Privacy and Permissions. In that menu there is something that says "Hide your EXIF data?" You have to set that setting to "no"

That is amazing about the fireworks shot. There is no way i could keep it that clear for 12 seconds.

Your images make me want to go back and try dark ride shots. This is an area is just completely skipped on my last trip.

Yes, 50mm prime. I love it :)

I'll also check on the EXIF settings to see how to turn them back on. Heading to AK soon to make rope drop so I'll change the setting when I get back to night after another try at Wishes.
