Routine maintenance at the Transportation Dock starting Monday, February 21 will suspend FriendShip boat transportation to Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and neighboring resorts . Anticipate the dock to reopen in mid-March. Bus transportation will be provided to Disney’s Hollywood Studios from the resort bus stop. Epcot, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas, and Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels are accessible by walking.

Anybody who would take the boat from the Beach Club to EPCOT needs their head examined. And there's no need to take a bus to Hollywood Studios; just walk the few steps to the Swan/Dolphin dock and take that boat.

Yes, I am confused. Some reports are it is the Dock at Y&BC only, and other reports are the entire fleet will be down due to the dock in the maintenance area.

Anyone have a clue as to the actual situation?

Sometimes, with the kids, we take the boat back from EPCOT, and we dont need our heads examined.

And there is a decent incline on the way to S and D that isnt just a few steps especially if you have hip issues...

I suppose we will know Feb 21 just what is involved in it, or perhaps it's a rolling rehab and one week one dock and another week another dock....

Time will tell

Ah, gee-I really hope they reopen by March 11. Mom and Dad will be there celebrating their 60th (!) anniversary and I know they really enjoy riding the Friendship Boats. And since they're staying at the BC, they're not so inclined to walk over to another resort.

From the BCV wouldn't it be faster to go to Int'l Gateway boats and get one to DHS? Can we do that?

It would be much, much faster to go to the Swan/Dolphin dock. Only a few feet further. If you go to the International Gateway, you will take a slow ride to BWV and wait a while, then a slow ride to Swan/Dolphin. So it will add a minimum of 10 and as much as 20 minutes to your trip.

I called the Swan yesterday since we are going this weekend and was told its a dock reburbishment and that the Swan/Dolphin dock is done and good to go that the boats are running. He thought they were working on Beach Club right now, but not sure. I would call your resort and ask, sounds like its dock by dock.
