Friendship Boat to Cape May?

Questions about the Friendship boat. We are going to be in Epcot on Sunday with our ADR at Cape May Cafe for 5:30 dinner. There are 10 of us in our party, 4 adults and 6 kids. Would it be better to take the boat over? How long would it take from start to finish. I'm trying to determine transportation times and stuff. We've never been to any of the Beach Resorts before.

You'd really be better off just walking over. The boats are just outside of the entrance/exit at the International Gateway, but the Beach Club is the first resort as you walk along the path. Unless there is a boat right there waiting to board it will be faster to walk over. It will take maybe 5 minutes from the park exit.
To get to the Cape May Cafe you just need to enter at the Beach Club lobby and the check podium is over to your left.

As helenK posted, it is quicker to walk to Cape May than take the boat.

Even if the boat is at the dock at Epcot, it will take longer. The boat first goes to BWI, then to YC. The walk from the YC pier to Cape May is just about as long as the walk from the Epcot IG exit to Cape May.

Definately better off walking. The boat is going to go to BW first, then over to YC/BC. If the boat isn't there, you may face a wait of up to 15 or more minutes. Then it will take you about 10 mins on the boat to the YC/BC dock. You really are much better off walking. It takes about 8 mins to get from the International Gateway to Cape May at the BC.

Agree with all the others. As someone who stays in the Epcot resorts, it is much faster to walk than wait for the boat.

Absolutely forget the boat idea. Once you exit the International Gateway just walk straight and the Beach Club will come up on your right side in about five minutes.

In case you didn't know you can take the Friendship boat over to the Disney Hollywood Studios. The boats run between the two parks and stop at the Boardwalk, Beach/Yacht Clubs, and Swan/Dolphin along the route.
