Hi all

I have realised I have never introduced myself, as I am kinda new, and really want to make some friends to chat disney with.

Well here goes, I'm Anna and I am from yorkshire. I am 22. I am going to wdw on 26th november for 2 weeks with my boyfriend (my parents are going two but we are doing seperate things), hes chris and hes 25 (a non believer who need converting).

We are flying from manchester and are staying at the caribbean beach hotel (bf first time in a disney hotel). I am needing lots of tips and advice, as I want to make this trip really special and turn chris into a believer.

I am going to try book crt but I have read its very hard to get a table. I am also looking for romantic things to do as well.

I have also tried to put a counter in my posts but I cant seem to do it right, and I would really like a logo how do i do that? sorry about all the questions

Any help would be nice, any friendly people would be even better, I am feeling a bit lost here

Anna

Hi Anna

Welcome to the DIS :)

What a great time to go - you should see all of the Christmas decorations at that time. I love the way you are going to convert Chris I am sure he will love it and you will have many more trips to come!

CBR is a lovely place, we stayed there for our first trip and loved it!

Put a post on the trip planning board about romantic things to do and you will get loads of idea's :)

Have a bash with the countdown apparently they are nice and easy to do :)

We have Trip Planning Chat every Sunday at 7pm, you will need to register again click here we can chat about everything Disney - we would love for you to join us :)

There is a Getting to know you thread on the top of this Board....you will find out loads about us :)

Hi Anna

Wow, Carribbean Beach - I have never stayed there but it looks lovely!

Good luck converting Chris! I am sure you will manage :)

There is a really good book specifically for adults going to WDW by Birnbaum who writes the "official" books for Disney. If you are looking to get something like this for your trip this could be just the thing? Here's a link to it on Amazon if you're interested (I'm not on comission I promise)http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...7552/sr=1-8/ref=sr_1_11_8/026-1365989-9446816

There are loads of romantic things to do at WDW, I think Kaylee's idea of posting a separate thread on the Trip Planning forum is good.

It sounds from your post like you have been before Anna - where did you stay and how long ago did you last go? (We could let you know what is new since your last visit)

Bye for now,

Karen

Hiya

I last went in feb/march 2003 for my 21st birthday with chris, but unfortunatly it wasnt the best trip, i buried my grandmother the day before we flew (my parents wouldnt let us cancell), i was ill on the plane and when we landed in chicargo to make the connecting flight to orlando i was taken to the hospital instead so we had to stay there over night, my unhappiness, grief, and fear of flying set my asthma off.

It was hard trying to enjoy it when I knew people were unhappy at home and so was I.

This year I am almost desperate to have a great trip, I have been trying to plan, I know I want to go to cinderellas royal table and want to do the firework cruise. I have even took the 90th day before I want to be at the royal table off work so that I can ring on time.

I need to do major christmas shopping too!!! plus I am going to have a new neice or nephew in september and want to pick up some babys first christmas things.

I seem desperate or nutty right lol. I just dont have anybody here to discuss things with.

Anna

We love talking....especially all things Disney :)

What sad circumstances for your last trip :( Are you trying for the Illuminations Cruise or the MK Fireworks Cruise? i have done both and they are great :) CRT is wonderful too!

Shopping is another of my favourite things - You could get a lovely Baby's 1st Christmas Bauble (Sp?) from the Christmas Shop at DTD :)

Hiya

I really dont know which cruise to try or what things i can book

Hi again Anna!

If you were there last in Feb 2003 not a huge amount has changed. New stuff at MK includes Mickey's Philarmagic - a 3D show which all that have seen it say is fantastic and hopefully Stich's great escape will be open when you go, which is the replacement for Alien Encounter. Much less scary and starring - obviously - Stich!

Mission Space is new at Epcot, a simulator ride in which you fly to the moon. Can't think of anything new at MGM since you last went but they are building a stunt show "Motors, Action" which is based on (the same??) as the one at Disneyland Paris which is spectacular. Can't think of anything new at AK either (but I'm never at my best on a Sunday night LOL). There's bound to be LOTS of other new things that I've forgotten about!

For the cruises, you can do one that sails you round Seven Seas Lagoon and you can watch Wishes (oh, just thought this is new since your last trip too). Or, you can do one where you sail round the Epcot resorts and towards MGM and end up in the World Showcase lagoon watching Illuminations. Either would be great! There is a really good thread at the top of the "Theme Park attractions and Strategies" forum that gives you lots of info about the cruises and booking them and so on.

You sound like a lot of us on here - taking days off work to ring for CRT - I'm sure you are not the only to do that LOL!!! (I'm saying nothing personally you understand ;))

Keep asking and chatting to us here on the boards and we will try to help you have a wonderful trip. What a difficult time you had of it last time!

We love talking about all things (and especially Disney) and remember no question is a silly one :)

Cheers

Karen

PS Can't think of a better place to do Christmas Shopping!!

Hi, Anna :wave2:

Well, at least Chris is going again, so you've got over the first hurdle! ;)

I take it that it's the breakfast at CRT that you are so anxious to get? Lunch and dinner don't require such meticulous planning. I do hope you get it, but please don't let it spoil your trip if you're not successful. If you want to convert Chris, you'd be better off taking him to the ESPN bar at the BoardWalk! :p

If you're not successful with the IllumiNations Cruise, go to the main DIS Theme Park Planning forum and check out the threads for sharing a cruise. We've recently done our 4th with US DISers through these boards.

I'm not sure from your post how many times you've been to WDW, but both the BoardWalk and Downtown Disney are fun, especially during the evenings.

Hi Anna

Nice to 'meet' you and don't feel lost!! Just feel free to ask any questions you have - the UK trip planning is an excellent source of information and this board (the UK Community Board) is where you can hang out and have some fun :) !

For loads of info, go to www.wdwinfo.com which is the 'fixed' info on the DIS but also carries news and regular updates too.

I would suggest that you and Chris take off to Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney and visit the clubs there - to find out more about each club click here but as well as the clubs with music, I'd try out the Comedy Warehouse and the Adventurer's Club too and don't miss "seeing the New Year in" at midnight!!

Take photo ID to prove your age as they are so strict on this they request the info for guests who are way over 21.

Rather than get overwhelmed with info, I'd read through the fixed info and take a note of things that you think would appeal to both of you as a couple.
