What happened to anonymity at these meetings?

I think it's still pretty anonymous. They don't list it as an AA meeting. They list it as "Friends of Bill W." As you can see from this thread, if one is not familiar with AA, they have no idea who Bill W. is (he's the founder of AA, and because it's anonymous, they only use first names).

if someone is in aa then they will know who billw is... (smile)
otherwise others don't need to know unless they ask....
and yes it is anonymous unless the person attending wants to tell others that they are attending meetings.....

I have NEVER figured out who that guy was. But I thought WOW! He has friends on EVERY cruise line and on EVERY ship!

As far as the anonymity...Bill W. got outed for me through "Lost". We were on the 9/30 cruise and I kept seeing the "Friends of Bill W." on the navigator but had no clue what it was. Imagine my surprise when I got home and watched the season premiere of "Lost" (I had Tivo'd it) and watched Jack's father go through a door that said "Friends of Bill W" and it was an AA meeting. I had an "ah-ha" moment.

I think it's great that they have those meetings on board ship. Disney really does cater to the needs of all their guests.

yep - Just so OP doesn't feel singled out, don't forget about Church Services, Solo/Single Parent Meetings, College Night Meeting, the "meet me back at the room" wink, wink meetings, the you go one way, I go the other way and meet me at the cash register of shutters meetings, the meet me at the DVC podium at 4;00 pm meetings, and my favorite - the meet me at the end of the dessert buffet...

They do - it happens one evening about 11 oclock and is heaven! All chocolate all the time

I was referring to the original post asking if any other Friends of Bill W would be on board. I realize there are no real names in this forum, but someone posting on here saying they are a Friend of Bill W outside of a meeting blows the anonymity. If they are comfortable with that, then great.
