Friends Of Bill W meeting Question??

I looking at the Western cruise "Magic" Navigators posted on the Web Site and On my Navigators. I see an event called The

"Friends of Bill W. Meet in the fantasia reading and game room".. I never went to this because I really thought it was a meeting of a private group on the cruise.

But unless Bill W. does a good amount of traveling, I think this is something else. Perhaps someone out there can shed light on this???

Friends of Bill W is a "code" name for AA

Actually, I think it is a meeting for members of any 12-step program, such as AA, NA, GA, etc. (although I don't think they recognize Disney Cruise addiction as a covered problem yet).

Yep, "Disney Cruisers Anonymous!"
But I think I am in denial...I can stop any time I want...really! I "only" have two more this year and "only" six in 2004. I'm not addicted, I swear! (And I'm a mental health professional, so you can trust my opinion ).

Thanks for teh clarification regarding the 12 step programs. But I agree, i think there is enough evidence that DCA is a true affliction! definition of addiction: 1. The Compulsive physiological and psychological need for a habit-forming substance

2.The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or or involved in something

I think that pretty much covers it for most everyone here .

Just a funny story to add. I have cruised a lot , and on my first cruise I saw the Friends of Bill W thing and thought wow, he must be popular, or it was a family reunion. The next cruise there he was again...I thought wow, what a freaky thing, the family is here again. Then finally on the last cruise I asked because this was like 7 cruises later and I didnt know how Bill W could have been on all my cruises. I couldnt believe how I missed that, and felt pretty silly I am glad they are there for all that need them. And I add my vote for the Friends of Mickey!
