We have the 40% off F&F discount for room only. Very happy to have this discount, but really hoping a 50% off will come up, or even better, free or discounted dining. Traveling mid-October, so only a month away. Should I stop "wishing on a star?" Or do you think the magic of Dis will come through for me with a last minute discount? Also, I hate to keep bothering my family-cast member...can anyone post updates here? Thank you!

I'm not familiar with the details about the F&F discounts -- are there limited rooms that are available? I only ask because many people are saying that the resorts are pretty full. Can you get what you want even with the 40%?

You probably won't beat the F&F discount. You can come close.

I have a room reserved at the YC for later this month. It was booked through Orbitz by going through ebates (2% back) and using an Orbitz code that could be applied to Disney rooms that were already discounted from the rack rate. Without applying my Orbitz Bucks, I got what amounted to a 39% discount. Not quite as good as F&F, but darn close!

I have also booked through the Expedia.co.uk website and I've gotten very good rates there. That was over year ago, but I think the rate that I got at ASSp was around 40% off of the US rack rate.

Then there are convention and meeting rates. We'll be at the GF in November for a meeting. Rack rate w/tax is close to $700/night. We're paying $246/night...a 65% discount!

Of course, all of those discounts were gotten well in advance. I booked the YC back in July and the GF was booked in March. Last-minute discounts for the general public are practically unheard of.

I think there are limited rooms available. From what I understand, you can normally only have one discount at a time...but if rooms are not filling up, there is a possibility of more. Last time we stayed at Poly with 50% off and either discounted or free dining, can't remember exactly. Every bit helps!

Wow! Sounds like you are a very good bargain hunter, like me :)

I just looked and it seems like the posts are pretty old, from 2006-2013. Is there a way to filter only 2015 posts?
The most recent post on that thread is from Sept.1 of this year.

To filter, use the search function. Then choose "newer than" and put in your desired start date.
