Are there any benefits to referring friends or family to DVC?

Friends just went to disney and bought into DVC. They mentioned my name to the cast member that was helping them and I had arranged for them to receive the informational DVD 9 months ago. I have been working on them for a while to join and just wondered if there are referal benefits I should be asking member services about.

Depending on the state you live in, you may be eligible for a referral bonus, yes. There are 5 levels of referral bonus or incentive, and they grow in value with each one per year. You can only be credited for 5 referrals in a calendar year. And you can choose between options of how you'd like your bonus given to you - a Disney Gift Card, a prepaid Visa card, annual dues credit or a discount taken off of the purchase of additional points.

If you look on the member site, look for SHARING THE MAGIC and it will detail the program for you.

When your referee actually does join, and actually closes the deal, then DVC will notify you after they close and inform you of your options. I have previously received my notifications via US mail, but just last week received a notification by email. That's probably how they'll be on a go-forward basis, but I don't have concrete evidence of that other than my own notification last week.
