I have a friend who is looking at going over Christmas 2017 from Canada. She asked me about the dining plans, and wants the deluxe plan. She can't find it on the ca site, is it an option?

Thanks for your help!

Was she trying to book a room only? To add the dining plan you need to book a package; room plus at least 2 day tickets.
I just went on the website (I'm in Canada) and did a dummy booking. After choosing the room and tickets the next page allows me to pick the dining plan, including deluxe.
But if I book room only with no tickets the dining plans are not an option.
Hope this helps.

Actually you can buy a room only and add on dining plan. My tickets where bought through undercover tourist, and the Canadian resident discount deal. My TA added the ddp to my reservation (we bought the deluxe ddp)

If you book a room only reservation online by yourself you can just call up and speak to a castmember and they will add on the dining plan to your room and then it becomes a package. Keep in mind that package rules (payment deadlines and cancellation rules) differ from room only rules.

Only for free dining, you would have to have a non-discounted package with hotel room and minimum 2-day base tickets.

Make sure your friend knows about the special on tickets for Canadians. It is an excellent deal, basically like buying them at par. Tickets must be purchased by the end of this month but they don't expire so if her plans change then she can use them years from now.
Also have her look at Disney menus online. Depending on how and where she eats it is often cheaper to skip the dining plan and pay out of pocket.

Oops, sorry, should have said the ticket deal ends at end of February, not this month.

We did the deluxe plan on our first trip 8 years ago and even though we love food, it was too much. we ended up cancelling reservations because we couldn't eat that much food.
We have been happy with the regular dining plan .
