My 9 year old son would like to have his friend accompany us on our May trip to WDW. This child is exceptionally well behaved, but I do have my reservations about doing this. Has anyone else done this? If so, how did it work out for you? My family have AP passes, so he would have to purchase his own pass as well as bring money for food, souvenirs, etc. This child has never been to WDW and it is unlikely that his parents would ever take him. Any opinions?

I say go ahead and take him. If he's a very well behaved child and his family will cover his expenses, you shouldn't have any problems, and your son would have a great time with his friend.

We've never done it at Disney, but we did take my DS's friend with us to Hershey Park last summer. They were 6 at the time. They both had a blast, and we had no problems with the friend. I also had concerns about taking him, but I'm glad I did and will be taking him again this summer.

Just remember to have his parents give you a notorized note allowing you to make medical decisions in their absence in case of an emergency, and don't forget his medical insurance card.
