Fried Chicken at 50's?

I shared mine with my niece. I had them sub the sides and got fries and corn with the chicken.

My niece loved it so much she ate 3 pieces (fine with me I only eat the breast anyway) and hardly touched the fries and corn. She didn't want dessert either.

Perfect amount for sharing. I couldn't finish the dessert as I lost my helper.

Our first time there was last year. My husband had the fried chicken, and I had the pot roast. I loved the pot roast, but was really hungry and it did not fill me up. My husband thought the chicken was wonderful, but it was a lot of food! So he was kind enough to give me a chicken leg. Very good! I got filled up and he got his clean plate club sticker!

We are going again in about 6 months!

Can you order just a chicken breast or 2? DH & I only eat white meat. Don't want the other pieces going to waste. Thanks!

That's exactly what I do. I think the normal serving is 3 or 4 pieces of mixed (dark and light). I always request only white meat and they give me 2 breasts. I eat one and usually share the other one or take it back to the resort. They always seem to make sure I know that I'm only get 2 pieces, which is OK with me.

I hope they let me do it the other way - I only eat dark meat and leave the breast! Or do any of you white-meat-lovers care to join us for dinner and we can share? :rotfl2:

(I actually roomed during college with a woman who only ate white meat. Worked out great - we bought whole chickens and both of us were happy! :))

Thanks! 2 chicken breasts is more than enough for me to eat. Now if I can just snag a ressie.

I am another one who is in love with the Fried Chicken at 50's :goodvibes. I had the chicken for the first time in March and LOVED it, I already told my DH that I wanted to go back there so I can have it again plus my S'more's dessert that is just as wonderful :cloud9:

I forgot about the sticker! This wasn't a year for stickers. My niece hardly got any. Usually they are handing them out everywhere.

We should have received a sticker, our plate was clean.

Fried chicken there is the bomb there... with the pot roast a close 2nd

I tried to take pictures of the fried chicken but i was a little late... good things dont last hehe

I always get the Fried Chicken at 50s.

Actually, I find Popeye's better, but, 50s' version does have it's charm.

The crust is always very crispy, no soggy bits. I have never gotten an undercooked bit either. It's not greesy, but, not dry.

I find my meal at 50s to always be a highlight of our trip.

OH, and make sure you put your elbows on the table frequently!

Agreed, it is very good here, dont forget to wash it down with a PB&J shake. :cool1:

Sorry...that is just nasty. I don't understand eating shakes or smoothies while eating food. I washed it down with a glass of chardonnay before dinner was served, and then a glass of sparkling water with the meal.

Anyone who orders a smoothie or shake with dinner...Hopefully, you're under 10.

I love their Fried Chicken, but the 4 piece portion is huge. DH and I generally split an appetizer here, and then the fried chicken (he loves white meat, while I love dark). We then, if we're lucky, will have room for dessert!
