Hi there

I'm going to the All Stars Movie Hotel in October and have such an embarrassingly stupid question to ask. We can have a fridge in our room - so:

a) how much are they a night - I'm sure it'll only be a nominal amount;

b) what's the size (don't worry I don't need exact measurements!)- and do they come with freezer box?

I'm only asking as one of the people I'm going with is one of those who needs to know EVERYTHING - and so far this is their only question I haven't been able to find the answer to.

Many thanks to anyone who can answer this question. I've got til October to find the answer!

Bye for now.

Hello Boo,

Not a stupid question at all but I can only answer part of it (and not that well at that!)

I think the cost is about $10 or so night (so it adds up over a fortnight if that's how long you're going for). Whether this may affect your decision I don't know but you can buy refillable mugs for about $12 which then means free refills for the rest of your stay. This includes coffee, soft drinks such as Coke & Sprite but not juice or milk. There are always free ice machines in American hotels too. Some people find the refillable mug means they can do without the fridge.

As to the icebox - we have usually had one but I have only stayed offsite before so I don't know what Disney's will be but I'm sure someone else can answer this one! They are usually the size of a normal "under worktop" size fridge if you know what I mean.

Oh dear I haven't helped at all, sorry!

Karen

Edited to add - sorry, posted at the same time as Eve!

Many many thanks for the replies - and so quickly too. I thought it would be something like that.

I'm going on 14th to 29th October. My children are almost unbearable already - and they've been before! Maybe I'll see you there. I'll be the woman in the Disney t-shirt.:jester:

Sorry but I've just discovered Smilies and so they're on everything!

Last time we stayed on-site we bought a small fridge from Walmart (the same model that Disney rent to hotel guests) for $75 plus tax. The same fridge would have cost us $140 plus tax if we had rented it. We left the fridge in the hptel room when we checked out.

Regards

Rob

Hiya  When we went, hubby and I weren't prepared to pay the extra $140 for the fridge for 2 weeks and seeing as we only wanted it for drinks, we went to Walmart and bought a huge cooler for under $5, filled it with ice from the ice machine every day then filled it with cans - it was ideal! So make sure you have a good nose round Walmart for alternatives, there really isn't a need to pay this huge amount of money. Hope this helps.

Many many thanks for the replies. We've only stayed self catering before - and the fridge was really useful then. Walmart here I come!
