Fridge Status Check-in *SEE FIRST POST

We checked in to port Orleans riverside in a royal room on 2nd floor of the last building...we had a none working fridge in the cabinet and a working fridge next to the table..our number

Hi all, looking for some clarification, we have a week booked at Riverside from 11th September, I have had no letter from Disney and wasn't aware of this fridge issue! Are the fridges all done there? How can I find out?

I booked the room on the basis that it had a fridge, so I do not expect to pay for a room that states it has something and then its taken away, I need milk for my toddler along with cold beverages for all my family I do not expect to pay the prices I am for a room and have to fill a sink with ice.

So what can be done, I saw a mention of a credit per night not that this is what I want I would rather have a fridge but if I have to go and buy individual bottles of milk everytime my son wants and cold drinks when needed then its not going to be coming out of my pocket (especially as disney prices)!

Whats the procedure?

My mom checked into All Star Movies today, 101 Dalmations section, non-working fridge with a note.

She tried to get a credit, but was only offered a cooler for free. She said the front desk clerk was real nice about it and said she would give it to her, except they had received an email about the issue (presumably to discourage the credit and offer the coolers gratis instead).

All value rooms got fridges beginning around March of 2012 I believe.

Checked into POR yesterday, AB section no fridge at all. Requested one and was told only medical requests were being met. Then asked for a credit, and I was given that. They were very nice about it.

I called the Guest Services number that was listed on my infamous fridge letter (staying @ CBR 9/21-9/28) and spoke with a very nice CM named Macey.

After that call, I firmly believe that your best source of knowledge as to what is going on with fridges are the posters on this thread who have recently stayed at WDW or are onsite now.

Macey apologized for the inconvenience and that WDW is doing every thing they can to switch the fridges over as quickly as possible (which I do not doubt).

She added a fridge request to my reservation even though my AAA TA supposedly already did that on July 11th.

When I inquired about the $15 credit, she firmly but politely said that no credits were being issued. My Garden Grocer perishables could be stored by Bell Services in their large refrigerators.

Again, take it for what it's worth but I think it leaves no doubt that our best source for fridge updates are our fellow DIS posters.

Art of Animation (Little Mermaid) did not have functional fridges upon check in (8/17,) but they were replacing at least some of Building 7's today. We got "home" to a row of fridges sitting outside rooms... lol!

They are smaller than the originals, and do not have a freezer compartment.

My family and I were also at the LM rooms (7632 and 7633 to be exact)from 8/20-8/27 and seen the same thing. Actually it was not until our 5th day in that we seen the line of fridges that were being replaced. We didn't get our replacement until the day before of departure.....which sorta sucked for us but better late than never, right?

BTW, we did get our room credit with no medical necessity or questions asked.

We had an issue in our room and were moved.

Room 3511 had a fridge with a note on it not to be used. Called for a fridge because of children's antibiotic that needed to be kept cold, a fridge with a note was brought to the room. Then we were told to just use the one already in the room.

We are in 9742. We checked in Monday, like I said, there was already 2 fridges in the room. The new fridge is bigger than the old fridge. We didn't request on so I'm thinking the past guests did and we just got lucky!

I was in Room 5311 of the Contemporary South Wing last week and I had a working fridge.

Anyone know the brand of the new ones? I am wondering if those with a working fridge just have the old one that a previous guest may have plugged in. :-/

Checked into Tower room at CR yesterday. Have a new fridge (the insides shelves, brackets were taped down still inside)

Not sure if that's the case throughout the resort, but thought I'd post up my experience. I had ordered a Styrofoam cooler with our GG order, just in case, so I have drinks icing down in that.

This thread has been great with updates but i have yet to see anything about CSR. Anyone know the fridge status there? 45 days out and would love to be able to have cold bottled water in the room.

Two things. One, I am worried about people plugging in the old ones and then the people replacing them getting confused as to which have been replaced and which haven't. Especially since the resorts are giving them to some guests for medical reasons. Are the new ones different in appearance? This whole thing seems very haphazard.

Second, does anyone have an update on CBR? The last one I saw was from several weeks ago.

When we were just there (8/20 - 8/25), the old fridge had a decal with operating instructions on the top. The decal covered the entire top. The new fridge did not have this decal.

Just got back from POFQ. Had both called and faxed in a request for a room with a fridge. We were in Building 3 and did have a working fridge. Not sure if it was new or old, but it worked!
