I believe that the fridge at deluxe resorts is a little bigger (taller) than the ones at mods. I could be wrong there, but thats off of memory. I dont have a pic, but I would describe the fridge as more rectangular as opposed to the square mini fridges, if that helps
Yes it was more of a rectangle than a cube. Sort of halfway between a cube and what they have in the studios at the DVC resorts. It didn't have a freezer section, but it was definitely larger, and if I remember right, had two shelves instead of one.

The fridges are rectangle in shape with a couple of shelves plus the door has the capacity to hold milk cartons and soda cans. Just got back from my stay at the contemporary and we had some problems with the fridge. The fridge is behind 2 doors that tend to overheat the compressor. So we had the fridge replaced and we were told that the doors must stay open to avoid overheating the compressor again. The maintenance workers told me that this is a flaw with the fridges and they are working on fixsing every one of them.

I guess my family and I were lucky because we have not had any problems with the fridges that you described, however it's good to know that they are going to be fixed.
My family and I stayed in room #4741 which as you probably know is theme park view 11th floor close to the magic kingdom. Mousekeeping was ok at best. Our ice bucket water was never emptied out and a couple of days they forgot to leave clean glasses.
