Fri night MNSSHP-much worse than Sun or Thurs?

How busy are Fri night MNSSHP's? Particularly looking at Fri 9/30. We will be there all week and am trying to figure out what night would be best to do the party. I am making my ADR's in a little over a week, and need to try to figure out which day at which park.

According to the preliminary hours, it looks like there will be a party on Sun 9/25, Thurs 9/29 and Fri 9/30. We have 5 day MYW tickets and then will have party tickets. We are doing 2 days at MK and then a party night and want to start the week at MK and end it at MK. But, really don't want to do the party Sun night, would like to start with a full day at MK.

We thought about doing Thurs party night, and that would leave Fri as our 2nd full MK day, but it is an EMH morning day on Fri and we are staying offsite, so I don't want to do that. So, that kind of leaves us stuck with a Fri night MNSSHP. Which, 1, it worries me because I figure it will be more crowded, and 2, if it pours or storms and gets pretty much rained out, we don't have another night to try and catch it, or another night to see Wishes, because the other days we would do our full MK days would be party night days, so no parade and fireworks.

So, we're kind of stuck with not the best option. So, I'm hoping Fri nights are not that much worse than a Sun or Thurs. Our priorities for the party will be meeting the 7 Dwarfs, Jack Sparrow, maybe Jack and Sally, and if we can catch a few others that would be great. And, the other priority would be the parade and Hallowishes, of course! If we have time to do some rides, great, if not, that's fine. And, a few Tot stations would be great too.

I've gone on that particular Friday (last in September) several times in the last 5 years or so. I believe 2 of them were sold out.

That's what I'm worried about-that it will be sold out, which I assume would mean higher crowds. Is it that much worse than a non-sold out party?

All parties, sold out or not, share some similarities:
  • The Hub and Main Street will be relatively crowded for parades and fireworks.
  • Party-exclusive characters lines will often be long, and certain of those in particular (Jack & Sally, Seven Dwarfs, etc.).
  • Trick-or-treat lines may look long, but move fast.
  • Outlying areas of the park will be relatively uncrowded.
  • Ride waits will generally be short, Haunted Mansion often the exception.
This is my experience after about 6-7 parties in the last 10 years, and agrees with hundreds of similar posters' reports here.

Thank you! I will try not to worry about it and just plan on whichever day works into our plans best!
