Frequent park goers: what stops the parks from becoming stale?

For me it's nice to do the parks a little differently each time. I go mostly with my partner and we look in all the shops, eat at will, stroll around, and ride whatever takes our fancy. We say for as long as we like. We also collect pins and do a little trading, so that takes us around the parks. I think the freedom to not have to do it all, see it all, is really nice because we know we will be back. It is truly our happy place and just being there feels good. I also like to kick my partner's butt at Buzz Lightyear each trip as he is a huge video game nerd and it's the only game on the planet where I can win against him, for some reason.

We visit WDW 3-4 times a year, and DL 1-2 times a year, mostly just for a weekend around other work-related reasons for the trips (I work with Disney in publishing with my own company)

Like I tell my boss who makes fun of me "find me another place where I can be happy and feel young" (I'm a senior). Of course he can't. Even though we go every year there is always something new or something new to us even after all of these years. We used to see things through our sons eyes over the years. They are grown and sometimes they go with me & DH and sometimes we go ourselves. My DS, DDIL, and DGD will be there this year for part of the trip. We will see the park through her eyes (she is 2) and so another new experience.

For us, it's a matter of spacing out trips. We try to let at least a year go by before going back, that way everything seems new again lol. Plus we almost always travel with extended family, and there's always somebody going who hasn't been before. It's so much fun to show them all of our favorite places and things. As my boys get older, they want to do different things, so we always have something on the agenda that wasn't there the trip before. We also try to mix it up with resorts so we're not staying the same place every time. The past couple of trips have been during the holiday season, and all of the decorations and the holiday events make everything that much better. The Disney magic seems extra special around Christmas. :wizard:
