Opinion please, my family and I are going to Disney World Dec 15 - 20 and have decided to extend out until the 22nd. We are currently booked at Port Orleans French Quarter but I am thinking about saving money and down grading to POP. Just an FYI, we have stayed at Riverside just never FQ and we have stayed at Sports and Movies just never POP. We are Park Commandos so we don't spend a lot of time in the room and it will be December so we aren't worried about the Pool. This is our second trip there this year, in March we stayed at Coronado Springs. Now the question is what would you do? The savings would be around $500. :earsboy:

Did you book with free dining? If so, at Pop you only get the quick service dining plan vs the standard dining plan with 1 QS and 1 TS credit for each day. If you figure in the price difference its much less than $500

That being said, we have stayed at Pop twice in December and loved it. We will be staying at FQ for the first time this November but the main reason we chose that over the value was because of the upgraded dining plan. We figured it to be about $100 more at FQ vs All Star Sports and upgrading the dining plan. Since we have never stayed at FQ we thought the extra $$ was worth it to do something new. Plus I have read such great things about FQ that I am very excited and know I made the right choice.

If you have young kids, they will love POP. For young kids, they would consider POP an upgrade not a down grade. The adults may feel different.

We have stayed at several Disney resorts over the years including POP. Since our first stay at POFQ, we have not stayed anywhere else. The resort is so small compared to the other resorts. You can walk anywhere within 5 minutes or less. The buses are good and the boat will take you to DTD. The big plus to me is the queen size beds.

POP has a better food court and the pool is much larger than POFQ.

If you are at the park from open to close, POP may be the way to go.

If you're hardly in the room, then choose POP and save the $$$. We choose POP every time anyway for this very reason.....only need a bed and a good shower. We like to be on-site for the magic though!!

We were booked at CSR but really watned the QSDP again. So we went with pop added the WP feature and still saved 550.00. So I would go with pop. We have stayed at all levels and honestly pop is one of my favorites.

I have stayed at both resorts. I would say Pop was a really good place to stay, but POFQ is better. At POFQ the grounds are beautiful, the cast members are second to none, and there is a free boat taxi ride to DTD that you won't have at Pop. Also, POFQ is a very quiet resort. When we were there, it never felt that busy.

Good luck making your choice, you are looking at two really good resorts. If it were up to me, I think $500 is definitely work the update to POFQ.

We've stayed at both (pop in December). I would certainly choose pofq if you can swing it. It's beautiful, quiet, clean, and waaaay less crowded. Good luck with whichever you choose!
