I'm contemplating staying at PO FQ for our trip next summer. I've been reading mixed reviews about the transportation. It sounds like the FQ busses make 4 more stops at RS before heading to their destination. Is this true?

Sometimes they do, but not every time. Whenever we've stayed they only shared during off peak times of the day.

Same with our last few trips. In fact every MK bus the last 2 trips we took went straight to or from. The weekend during Food and Wine the Epcot bus didn't share even in the late afternoon.

They don't always share with POR. We stay at both Riverside and POFQ and have had good luck with the buses. When and if they do share... FQ is picked up and dropped off first. Buses to MK (at least in our experience), they never shared and they've had their own separate bus stops. Sometimes this is the same at Epcot and then the next day, the bus stops are shared at the park.

We have only shared 3 times and that was on our first trip. The last 3 trips we have not shared. Hopefully that is helpful.
Even if you do share though it only adds about 10 minutes onto your ride. The bus will pull up to a stop at POR and if no one is there it opens the door, sits for a very short period of time (less than a minute) and then closes the door and goes to the next stop. It will repeat the same process at each stop if there are no guests waiting for that specific bus.

Yes, that loop used to be pretty bad. But they've split it up to be:

BWI-Swan-Dolphin one loop
BC and YC the other loop

I was going to say the same thing, that the sharing was much worse when we've stayed at BWI and YC. Have stayed at POFQ twice (about 8 days total), and only shared w/ POR on one bus - and that was in the middle of the afternoon TO the parks (don't recall which one).

Glad to hear they split up the busses on the BC/YC/BWI/Swan/Dolphin loop!!

We've stayed there twice, and did share bus stops en route to parks a few times and other times went straight to the parks. More often we did not share with POR. Coming back from the parks, POFQ was always the first stop. I thought the bus transportation, overall, at POFQ was probably the best I've experienced, staying at resorts all the way from Pop to Poly. We liked that not only is there only one stop at POFQ, but it's also a little more centrally located in relation to the resort than at some of the deluxe resorts.

Sharing is rare for POR and POFQ but even when they are shared they are still faster than other mods due to their proximity to each other and the number of stops.

Agreed. I honestly can't even remember sharing a bus from park to resort except once when the POR bus driver let a few of us waiting for the POFQ bus at MK onto his bus and dropped us off first. As for resort to park, it was only a handful of times we shared. In all my uses of the buses to and from POFQ, I only had one bad experience (early evening bus to MK taking forever) which I think is pretty dang good.

One of the places that extra buses park until called into use is POFQ. So if you are at the bus stop and MK bus pulls up and has to leave people behind, the driver calls and says so, it takes like less than two minutes for them to send another bus since it is right there in the parking lot. We stayed in 2008, when they always shared buses at POR and it was a little crowded, but not horrible. But when we stayed in 2014 at POFQ we only shared buses on the last day of a 13 day stay. We were leaving mk during middle of afternoon to go back to POFQ, we got to the bus stop and it seemed different, then we noticed that they changed and it was no longer for POFQ, and the one for POR now stated both POR and POFQ. We went to that stop and when the bus pulled up we were still the only ones waiting for the bus. So they only share at times when it is very quiet and not crowded. Other wise we never shared. The park crowd level for the day we shared was a 2, every other day we were there and did not share the park crowd level was a 4 to 6, if that helps.

They changed Eocot resort busses a few years ago. The only time they all share now is DTD. For MK & AK, YC/BC share, and BWI shares with Swan/Dolphin.

On our late March trip we only shared with POR returning to the resort from the parks. And POFQ was the first stop.
