freezing rain - DD gets her wish

Today is the day DD12 has been waiting for since starting a new school that has her being bused.

SNOW DAY! Or rather, freezing rain day.

My daycare kids were late this morning (6am instead of 5:30 am). Hubby had to scrape ice off the van (6 am) so he could drive to work. And it's still freezing rain out there at 7:05 am!

I just found out another girl (normally bused with my DD) will be staying all day with us instead.

Wonder if my DS7 will have a fit when I inform him he's still going to school as it's walking distance. Pllus another mom may drive him with her girls.

Day #2 of snow/ice day for us. We didn't get much freezing rain yesterday, but the snow was pretty bad at times and everyone was telling me how horrible the roads were. Apparently we had freezing rain last night but looking out the window it doesn't look too bad...but its snowing again.

DD is sick though, so she would have been home regardless. I stayed home from work yesterday but DH is staying home today. She has the super nasty bug I had 2 weeks ago. I feel soooo bad for her. Its all in her chest and the poor girl has no voice. I know how miserable she must feel and I wish I could do more for her. I still am not 100% back to my old self.

Ugh - I hope you two are feeling better soon.

Looks like the ice is all melting now. A few minutes ago I looked out back and saw all the icicles (formed early this morn. from the freezing rain) were dripping. Now it's just light snow. Hope it all melts by the time school is out. Papers to deliver, plus I ran out of salt/sand last night.
