Hello, everyone
New member and first time poster here! My fiance and I went on the 4 day Wonder cruise in October, and we're going on another to celebrate my birthday (departing March 9). We have a verandah cabin again and can't wait! Here's our question-last time we didn't leave the ship Freeport day because we didn't want to be restricted to shore excursion schedules (or prices), plus we felt we hadn't had any chance to really explore the ship. We've read in other guides it's possible to take a cab for about ten dollars to the Lucaya resort area. Has anyone braved this "DIY" touring? Do you know if there is beach access from that area? We're thinking of venturing out but may only want to spend two or three hours and get back to the ship. Ideally we'd like to look around some shops and kick around on a beach. Frommer's and other guides have been a bit fuzzy about what it is actually like at Lucaya, so we're anxious to hear some other trip warrior's report! Thanks.
