To go with any dollar saved is a Disney dollar, we paid our mortgage off 23 years early, saving between $150,000-$200,000.
That's enough to keep us cruising for a good long while.

Nice! I have a few friends who paid their mortgages off WAY early. None of them have had to ever borrow for ANYTHING ever again; this despite none of them being "wealthy". What a great position to be in!!!

Congratulations! We purchased our home last June for cash. Walking in to a home that is 100% paid for is a fabulous feeling...not to mention all the freed up cash every month!

We paid three to four times our base payment toward our mortgage for a year, we'd been paying double for a year before that. Hardcore on the rice and beans mentality (think broke). We lived like no one else so now we can live like no one else! Debt free.

Freedom is a great feeling, isn't it? We paid off our mortgage in the 16th year, leaving us absolutely debt free and that was 5 years ago at age 42. Felt great!

It's nice you did it while your kids are so young! We paid off 10 years early, just in time for our first child to start college. It's great having that cash each month to go straight to tuition/housing, but I envy your spot!
