free tours of Grand Californian Hotel.. keep meaning to do this.

I like this thread so I'm going to bump it!

You can email yourself a Buzz Lightyear picture...

If you are staying at a DLR hotel you can call vacation planning and ask for an autograph picture of a disney character for the individuals in your party (even the adults!). VP said they would be ready for us at check in. :goodvibes VP also said that there are free balloons for the kids at check in if you ask (I've never tried... but this is what they said).

Oh... if you have a disney VISA you get to rent two strollers a day at no cost!

I have never done the GCH tour that sounds so fun I need to do it next trip.

I second the Gallery tour if a CM has time they will tell you great information and also show you design drawings that are on display about how the apartment would have looked in use. Also they usually have great displays up there to see anyway.

This apartment was actually designed for VIP's and actualy had a private entrance to Club 33 (blocked now). But they will show you old magazine photos of the Family used apartment that is on Main Street.

I also want to add that you can get lyrics for all your favorite ride songs up in the gallery so you can stop singing the famous POTC "La, la, la, lalala..." version.

Here's one you can do from home... at least it worked 10 years ago.

Write a letter to a character, mail it to the park and sooner or later you will receive an autographed photo in return. I've written to Pooh at both Disneyland and WDW and received two different photos.

you go to the ticket window and asked them for a shopping pass. you give them a credit card to hold an ammount on the credit card in case you dont come back. Then you walk in and buy stuff. when your done, you walk back to the ticket window to report back in and etc. i think thats how it works.

Here is the info I found about the shopping pass.

"One Hour FREE at Disneyland

Here's a little-known bit of information about Disneyland in California: you can enter the park for FREE for one hour or less with a "shopping pass." The intended purpose of this program is to allow someone who forgot to purchase a souvenir the opportunity to go into the park and buy it.

A shopping pass may be obtained by visiting the Guest Services Window next to the Main Entrance of Disneyland. The shopping pass provides 60 minutes of park admission at no charge. To obtain a pass, you will need to provide a valid credit card or cash in the amount of a 1-Day Ticket for deposit. You will then be given a ticket with a specified return time. When you return to Guest Services within the specified time, you will not be charged for a 1-Day Ticket. The shopping pass is not available after 4 pm.

They are very strict about the one-hour time limit, and only one person in your party will be allowed to do this. Some people have been asked to show a receipt when returning to Guest Services -- others have not."

After you ride the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disneyland you can go to one of the computers after you exit the ride and email the picture they just took on the ride of yourself for free.

Thank you! I will definitely have to do that one.

Actually, the apartment was ment for Walt and Roy's families to use. Unfortunetly, Walt passed before it was finished. It was then used for storage until 20 years ago this weekend when it became the Disney Gallery. There is still an entrance to club 33 from the Apartment's back balcony. You can see it if you go back there from below. It is between area in the middle of the gift shop located on the gallery side of the pirates ride exit.

If you purchase more than fifty dollars and show them you disney visa you will get ten percent off of your purchases. You don't need to actually use the card just show it to them.
