After listening to the little DVC show review I remembered that I heard once that you sometimes get a freebie for taking the DVC tour in WDW. Does anyone know if this is true? I heard you either get some fast passes or a little gift card. Does anyone know if this has been happening recently, and how long the tour is? What resort do they take you to, or do you get to pick which one you want to see?

The tours take place at Saratoga Springs, and DVC will provide transportation if you need it. The presentation with the Q&A with the guides shouldn't take more than 90 minutes, and they will not pressure you if you need to leave for any reason.

In the past, I knew that they had lunch vouchers good for any quick service restaurant as a small token for taking up valuable vacation time, and others have mentioned getting FastPasses. I don't know what they are currently offering people who take the tour.

You'll typically get to see a model of the various types of accommodations at a mock up of their newest DVC resorts. The Doorway to Dreams store in suburban Chicago (the first offsite DVC store of its kind) had AKL villas until recently. I'm going to check out their mock up of the Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary when I go meet other DISers there on Sunday.

I could have sworn they had the various resorts' decor available at Saratoga, but my guess is that the mockups they'll be more inclined to show in greater detail would be the Bay Lake Tower rooms.

hi briar rosie, we were there in oct. we wanted to see the bay lake tower mockup. it was at ssr, the guide took us in to the akv mockup first, we walked into the hall, he opened a door and we were in the hallway of baylake towers! the mockup has everything from studio on up and even have dishes in the room.(my dd noticed no toilet paper)anyway, make sure you go over, it was great!

Last October when my parents went, they saw the AKLV demo rooms and were given a coupon for ice cream.

Cool, thanks guys. Sounds interesting. We would be curious to learn some more about it even if we can't quite afford it just yet...you never know what the future may bring :)

In college I used to get telemarketing phone calls all the time from an Orlando timeshare company and I always used to hang up and then finally one time I said "yes I would love to go on your all expenses paid trip to WDW" the woman got really excited and tapped me through to the next person who asked what my income range was and I said I don't have a job. He asked how much my spouse made, and I said "I am not married." He asked how I make money, and I laughed and said I am a college student...they never called me again.
