Will Disney offer this at some point? I realize no one knows the answer but wanted to get everyone's thoughts on the topic. It just seems odd that smaller hotels do and Disney doesn't.

I doubt it. I stay at many deluxe hotels where I pay for the internet. The lower end hotels give it away.

I agree! Let's face it... it is an easy way for Disney to make money! :goodvibes We are a society that wants and/or needs to stay connected or to at least connect. I doubt it will ever be included.

LOL, on of these days they'll run a 'free internet promotion'.. Will be as popular as free dining :D
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I hope so. Im still taking my college classes online and it seams like everytime we go I owe a paper or need to test. Remember being at MVMCP last year doing homework waiting for the parade to start. My son even got some of his reading done too

Not that odd, IMO.
I've stayed at many different kinds of hotels and while the cheap motels and chains like Holiday Inn usually offer free Hi Speed, I've had to pay for it more often than not at Hilton, Sheraton or Marriott hotels.

It'd be great if they would but I don't see it happening. I'm just grateful that they have some kind of internet access. We're staying in a hotel in NY that claimed to have "free highspeed internet" ... turns out it's WEBTV !!! I didn't even know that thing still existed, it's useless.

Ya think maybe they've included free internet access to the YOAMD prize offerings? I'm open to that!

Disney wants you out and about in the parks spending your money, not in your room on the Internet!!:surfweb:

Probably smaller hotels just don't want to spend the money or time getting their own office network secure, so they just allow everyone to use it. :lmao: That's the sort of thing I noticed on our 2 week CA trip...you'd see the office network listed right there on the list of networks...

Doesn't help for WDW, but...go to Disneyland and stay at Paradise Pier, where you COULD plug into the "wall", but our 10th floor room still could access the hot spots in the lobby, as could a 14th floor denizen I saw a post by...free wireless where there wasn't supposed to be!

WDW has no hot spots in their lobbies?

There are a few areas with wireless, but it's not free. You have to pay before it will let you log in. Typically, it's the lobbies and public areas in the convention resorts. The wireless costs about the same as the wired high speed in the rooms, if I remember right.

Free Internet at Disney?

1) I doubt it.
2) I think there is a policy.
3) Can't use the words "FREE" and "DISNEY" in the same sentence.

When I see free wireless offered by hotels, I always assumed they were mainly targeting the business traveler with that perk.

I wish but really Disney doesnt have to. They are going to sell rooms regardless of Internet or not. The smaller hotels need to offer something to entice people to stay there.

That may have been the truth in the past, but now lots of people will share pics right away with their family back home, or check emails, keep an eye on weather, pay bills if you are gone for a while etc etc.. I have a cell that can tether to my laptop as my i-net connection (if there is that service there) and I'll use it. If that's not the case then I'll get the 24 hours a couple of times during the week..
