How is the speed of the resort wifi, what about the connection? I've been in some chain hotels that you are better off staying on 3g then connecting to their wifi.

It is very slow. They make it available so they can say it is available... You can't upload anything or stream anything but it is ok for basic surfing. So you can read DIS but you can't upload any pictures... I tried to upload images last Christmas of them disassembling the gingerbread house at the GF and it was showing 2hr time to upload a single image. Ended up just posting everything with my phone. So in short, it works for anything you would use dial up for.

I'll echo what PP said. OK for basic browsing. I had trouble sending mail, but no trouble receiving it. The "pay for" Internet was quite good.

The speed was good when we were at CBR in February. I uploaded photos and watched netflix with no trouble.

We stayed at the GF last August and it was slllllooooowwwwwwww. We stayed at the WL in November and it was just as fast as at home.

The feedback I've had from Port Orleans guests seems pretty consistent at around 1Mbps download, 256kbps upload (in-room speeds). The speed achieved in the lobby and common areas is considerably faster.

Having just returned from the POFQ a week ago I can say that the browsing speed was pretty good. I even downloaded the week's podcasts. However, my iPhone was the only device that we had which worked on the wi-fi. Neither our Macbook nor DH's Galaxy S II were ever able to connect to it. Granted we never asked for assistance, so it could've just been us and you might not have any of those issues.

yeah i was kinda afraid of that. luckily i have foxfi for my 4g droid 4 . also i have a lapdock 500 so i am not to worried, but it would be nice if you could at least upload a picture.i get 30 download and 22 upload on verizon 4g. i could understand if they wanted to slow netflix or something. last i remembered though (we are never in the room) you couldnt even rent a movie in the room if you wanted.

Would it be fast enough to use Skype? We're hoping to Skype my mom so she can tell my kids she's suprising them with a day at Sea World! :)

It is very slow.

1) Sometimes.
2) Sometimes, it is medium.
3) Seldom is it fast.
4) THERE IS NO CHANGE IN THE MAIN SYSTEM.
5) All they did was to add wireless routers to the base Internet system.
6) Thus, just like room HSIA cables use
. . . if there are lots of people on the net, then it is slow
. . . if there are fewer, then the speed is better

Last year we stayed at the THV and The Bay Lake Tower. I brought my ipad and I could not find a connection in the Main Contemporary.
