Now that Disneyland has its own My Experience App, do you think that wifi might come to the DLR?

I sure hope so! I'm not from the USA and I don't want to pay a ton just to have internet available on my trip! :worship:

Ditto. 100%

I've looked into roaming/data packages with my Canadian cell provider. Pass! Way too much money.

We're going in October for our first visit to the west coast - so excited. I'm not holding out hope that wifi will be available at that point.

I do think it's an inevitable next step sometime in the near future.

I got myself a pay as you go SIM card for T Mobile USA. For me this is not only about internet access, but I am meeting up with a lot of friends during the trip and this just makes life easier in terms of them contacting me and me contacting them.

Ikr? We're also going in October! From Oct. 20 to Oct. 25! It's our 2nd visit in over 12 years! I'm so excited!!

There are still 3 months to go so hopefully they will have wifi by then... maybe.

That's interesting. I'll have to look into that and see if there are other internet options for us! Thanks for replying!

We were just there in June. No wifi then but maybe that's changing in the future?

I'm from Canada so Wifi in the parks would be awesome. However my husband has unlimited calling/texting/data in Canada and US on his phone so we're just going to use his phone this trip ;-)

I was just there last night and there was a new WiFi option that popped up (no psw required). It said "Internet-TWDC. It connected on my phone but was of course too slow for my liking

Did you actually make a connection? That is the employee connected wifi. It is usually requires a password.

It doesn't initially require a password because when you try to navigate it launches a website that asks for various types of login credentials from across TWDC companies. If you didn't get the login prompt it was likely too slow or too spotty of a connection to trigger it.

Ah. I've never had it pop up before, that's what was so weird. And I'm there all the time

The above is what I meant when I said it should have asked for a password. You can usually find the connection around Guest Services, most of the restaurants, and near backstage areas. It is a pain to try and connect to, because it will SHOW you are connected, but you actually have to get the website page that has you enter the credential information. It is similar to the hotel wifi, where you have to get the page to come up that says you agree to their terms. (Except you enter a user and pass.)

If you try to hook up to some available WiFi, typically the cellular data connection will be cut off. For me it gets pretty frustrating sometimes since I have Comcast internet service at home, and my phone will automatically hook up to either "CableWiFi" or "xfinitywifi". I don't have to log in since the system already recognizes the MAC address of my phone, but often it's almost unusable because of limited bandwidth due to too many people using it.

The Disneyland app is not MDE. Someday, maybe. By right now, the app is very limited.

Old thread but everyone that has commented about the TWDC wifi points are correct it requires employee passwords to access, and from what I have been told it is tracked by username for log-on's. As far as public access to wifi its a lot harder to do because of the amount of radio traffic in the area overpowers the wifi signal. It could come into use someday but it wont be anytime soon

My first thought when I read the title of this thread was "Pshhh I WISH!" :( I can't even imagine how much bandwidth they'd need to service 40,000 at once!

Maybe someday...
