I think I read there's free Wi-Fi Internet in all parks and all resort. Is this true?

If so, once you are in the park or in resort, does your phone automatically pick up the Wi-Fi connection or do we need special code?

I don't have unlimited plan so this will be helpful if there's free wi-fi.

Thank you

There's no need to enter any code, but whether or not your phone automatically picks it up depends on your phone and its wi-fi settings. For example, on my iPhone, I have the automatic seeking for networks turned off. When I get to WDW, I just open up the wifi settings, select the guest network, and connect.

I used the free WiFi in the parks and resort and it worked great! I was a little stressed because I needed to check in for my Southwest flight while at MK, but no issues.

Wifi names

In the parks: Disney-Guest
Resorts publis areas (lobby, pool etc): Public Space Guest wifi(Disney)
Resorts In the rooms: In Room Guest wifi(Disney)

Be aware that you do tend to get dropped off the wifi a lot. It's easy enough to reconnect but if you're concerned about data just keep an eye on your connection before you use the phone.

ETA this is in the parks. Usually not an issue at the resorts.

As much as I love the free WiFi and the Caribbean Beach, a lot of good it does when the service is terrible in our room! Our entire trip.. One bar, maybe two if we were lucky. Had to go outside to make phone calls. The Internet was slow as a snail or wouldn't load. Shame on AT&T lol I just hope it's better at other resorts!

When were you there? We stayed at CBR last June and had the same problem. After about 3 days of talking to tech support on the phone, we were finally able to connect consistently, for the most part. The coverage was still really spotty, though. It was much better at CSR the year before.

It is free, but it is so spotty that your battery on your mobile device will drain quickly. My advice - connect when you need it then drop the connection.

It is rumored that this will be an "up-charge" item at some point.

We've had good service at the resorts, the wifi was strong in the rooms we were in, different rooms in several different resorts. It was great!

Around the same time as you, August. Such a pain!

HA! When we were in Disney in 2007, there was a $10 a day charge for wifi I was excited to see that they are no longer charging for wifi.

Not so much an "up-charge", but built into a non optional fee added to your room costs for on site guests. At least based on what I have seen about them assessing a resort charge to "cover" things like DME, WiFi, Magic Bands, etc.

So I guess only onsite guests would be "paying" for the wifi in the parks. Offsite guests would get it for "free".
