Ok so a friend of mine who lives in Orlando, and who knows what a big Disney freak I am, text me yesterday and said "When are you coming down to FL to visit? My friend can get you free tickets to Disney" and then I peed myself in excitement! Okay I wasn't really incontinent but my heart started beating fast. He said I could stay with him and even let me use one of his cars I flew down but I would probally will drive. But I have never stayed outside the resort since I was 7 years old, this would be a really new experience for me and I would also bring a friend of mine who has never been to WDW and feel she would be missing some magic not staying on property, but I guess saving over $1000 is magic enough! :wizard: Any off site tips?

We have done both off and on site. Be sure you budget for parking. Staying off is nice as that it is easy to have breakfast at home before heading into the parks. It is a little tougher in that you have to navigate the driving on your way out, which I always find confusing.

Have a great trip.

I'm going to move this to our Orlando board for your offsite tips :) Have a great time.

First, and most importantly, be sure that your friend's friend really CAN get you free tickets. My sister used to be very big on telling her friends that I worked at WDW and could get them in for free, but she didn't realize what the limitations of my free passes were. And, in many cases, I could not help her friends and they ended up having to purchase tickets. So be absolutely certain that this friend CAN get you in free.

Also find out the parameters. If someone is signing you in, then you will need to be at a certain place at a certain time. Be sure you have that flexibility. If you're a "get there at rope drop" kind of person, and the CM signing you in is a "don't get up before noon on a Saturday" kind of guy, then you may have to go by his schedule to get your freebie. So be sure to ask what those free tickets entail.

This is just REALLY good advice. My sister went down because of a similar offer and she got very little time in the parks because of trying to work things out with the person getting her in for free.

Okay thanks for that advice... I'm glad to have heard for some of you who have been in that position before.
