AirTran overbooked our flight, so we accepted their free (3 of them) flights to anywhere AirTran flies.........., which is mostly the eastern states, midwest, Bahamas and California.

So, where should we book our next vacation?

Disney of course.

Considering that you have vouchers for free travel, you might as well maximize the value of those vouchers by traveling to a relatively distant location rather than to Florida.

I don't know where your live, but you might want to consider flying to one of AirTran Airways' three Western destinations -- Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. All three are great destinations, although Las Vegas is primarily geared toward adults.

If you want a dose of Disney, the Los Angeles metro area is the home of the Disneyland Resort, with the original Disneyland, the coulda-been-better-but-still-lotsa-fun Disney's California Adventure, and Downtown Disney.

There's far more than Disney in California. In addition to being America's most beautiful city, San Francisco is a good starting point for trips to the redwoods, the wine country, and (if you have enough time) to the National Parks of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Los Angeles is an amazing, spread-out city with no end to entertainment, museums, art, gardens, shopping, beaches, and attractions.

We too have vouchers from AirTran (for a piece of long-lost luggage they initially denied responsibility for until it we received a call from a nice lady in Flint, Michigan, who had it sitting on her porch for a month - oh well, at least it was eventually found).

Our vouchers are limited use as follows, better check restrictions on yours before you make any plans:

Good for 1 year from issue date

Continental US travel only

Capacity controlled (i.e., who knows, certainly not the reservationists, how many seats are allocated on each flight, it's a mystery!). It was suggested that we book ASAP.

Black out dates apply

That said, you wouldn't believe the number of stops and down time between PIT and LAX (shortest flight approximately 8 hours). AirTran usually routes through Atlanta on flights of any distance. Even from PIT to MCO, a duration of a little over 2 hours, the majority of their flights stopover in Atlanta.

Once our plans are settled we do look forward to using the vouchers, just hope they'll be on a direct flight. Can't wait to try Southwest, they start in May in our area.
