What would you call a preferred location there. We will be walking and using Disney transport. I’ve heard using the monorail is best. We won’t be swimming very much. If at all.

It’s not necessary to send SOG a letter. Give them a call and ask for lobby level and as close to the lobby as possible. In March, we were lobby level and the first two rooms right past the store. It was a perfect location! Minimal walking to get to the pool, lobby, bus stop.

I’m trying to learn by google, but where is the Polynesian in reference to this? We are planning to take the monorail.

The Poly is a super easy walk. You walk down the sidewalk, past the guard shack to the end of the SOG property (your walking out the same direction that you drove into SOG). There’s a crosswalk. Cross the crosswalk and your at the Poly. Just follow the sidewalk to the boat or go inside to get on the monorail. Depending on how fast you walk it’s maybe 10-15 minutes.

I was confused over poolside vs pool view (cost and location), but was corrected on it after some research and good to go now.

I think the only real difference is some of the rooms at SOG have two sinks. I made that request for one of those rooms on my reservation, so I guess I will see what we get. But there aren't really upgraded rooms there.
