Free Trial Performing Arts class for DS?

Asking any experiences with Tuition for performing/theater type schools. My DH and I would like to sign our DS up for a class at a local Performing theater school. He is 5 years old. They offer Intro to Musical theater(dance, singing, acting). Not a competitive class..just for fun. When I called, the school assumed at first I had a daughter. So of course I asked if it was only for girls. It is not but most students are girls. She did find a Intro. class that listed 2 other boys in it. The usual registration is that they ask for the tuition before the first class. We have the money but I would rather go to a class first to make sure my DS is comfortable and excited. Also I would like to take a peak at the environment. Do these type of schools usually allow a trial visit or not?
