We are all very tired from a very long trip to FL. Decided to do a quick trip after moving DS out of college. Well, we are all to exhausted to head to a park on Sunday as planned.

Yet, I don't want to end up just sitting at the resort, Pop Century, all day.

Any suggestions on what we could do?

I think, years back, reading about riding the monorail, stuff like that, but can't seem to find a thread like that right now.

I love doing the monorail tour and find it very relaxing. When we got to the Poly last time and had a seat in the beautiful lobby a woman came along serving cookies to us.
You can also take a boat ride across the lake from the Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge. It's short but relaxing.

You can walk over to the Art of Animation they have drawing classes for free. Our family did it at Hollywood studios and had so much fun - they especially laughed at me cause I can't draw.

The campfire sing along with Chip and Dale at Fort Wilderness. You can buy stuff to make s'mores, and then stay to watch the Disney movie they show (Cinderella - animated version for May 8).

There are also some free tours/talks at some of the deluxe resorts. I've read about ones at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge but have never done them myself.

Disney Springs is fun to walk around and eat. We used to resort hop to pick out where we wanted to stay next time.

We are doing a trip this summer with no park tickets, just to do the things that we normally wouldnt take the time or expense to do!! Here are our free/cheap plans:
**Visit POR Riverside and eat/ explore, then take the boat down to Disney springs and prob do more eating/exploring! :)
**Do a monorail crawl, and snack and look for pressed penny machines
**Like a previous poster mentioned, Chip and Dales campfire at Fort Wilderness

Im looking into more info on a DVC tour myself, as I think that sounds fun too! We are also doing Pirates and Pals from the Contemp, and a character meal that we normally wouldnt, but I realize those arnt free, so not really helping you out!! Good luck!!

If you find more free, cheap fun things, be sure to come back and let us know!

this is too late for OP.... but I will add we just returned from a 5 day no parks trip..... it was WONDERFUL. (my teens decided to get park tix to hop around for one day, they had a blast hitting all 4 parks) We ate at restaurants we never usually stop to check out, swam at pools we never had time to swim in, hung out at beautiful Disney resorts to grab a drink or a snack and take in the scenery, went for long walks, if we weren't inspired to hang around our own resort(which we weren't at Pop) we visited a couple of favorites, and just enjoyed ourselves. We also enjoyed a monorail ride, including over Epcot, lots of boat rides, and free ferry options to various places.... A couple of nights we spent some time at various resorts outdoor movie options, saw some big fireworks from just being near the right park at the right time ....I feel like it was our best WDW trip in a long time.

Walk over the bridge to Art of Animation. Don't forget your camera. The details are exquisite. Have a meal in their food court. Just enjoy the ambience of the place.

Where is that? Thanks!

When at Pop, instead of walking toward the lobby-food court, walk in the other direction. It is well marked. Cross the bridge over Hourglass Lake, and you are there. So in essence, you will be walking past the Hippy Dippy Pool, past the Kiddie Pool, cross Memory Lane, to the generation Gap Bridge. Lots of places to sit and relax. It makes for a very pleasant few hours.

We have:

Taken the gardens tour at Old Key West

Done night time animal viewing at AKR

When staying at OKW went to AoA and ate at the food court and browsed. Make sure to enjoy the lights in the lobby, they're so cool!!

Rode the monorail, stopping at each resort until we decided where to eat lunch, than went back to the resort we wanted to eat in.

Go to the show at POR, Hee haw Bob (?) This is on our list this trip

Watch Wishes from the beach at the Poly or Wiilderness Lodge

Do a walking tour of Beach Club, Boardwalk and Yacht Club

Disney Springs. I can 'shop' there for hours, just buying an ornament, or a spice from the kitchen shop. I have also done the opposite, spending an hour and spending a small fortune. Earl of Sandwich is a great bargain there too!!

Go bowling at Splitzville

Go mini golfing!

I know there are some cost involved with a lot of these, but they'll get you moving and yet let you relax by setting your own pace.

Chip & Dale Campfire was going to be my suggestion as well! Any of the resorts have a movie night, although they now vary on what nights.

See the Electrical Water Parade from one of the monorail resorts or Fort Wilderness.
Play Transportation Roulette. Take the first bus out of your resort, get off where it stops and look around. If you end up at a park, take the next bus immediately.

Yes, you can ride the monorail and the boats near magic kingdom. You can go to Disney Springs. You can go to Animal Kingdom lodge for viewing animals with night vision binoculars. Have fun
