Free Tax USA

Has anyone heard of or used this site to do your taxes? I was looking around for a discount for either TurboTax (what I used last year) or TaxACT and came across a link on eBates for FreeTaxUSA. They are the cheapest by far - $9.95 for fed & state, plus 25% back from eBates - but I've never heard of them. I'd love to save money but am leary of using an unknown service for something as important as taxes!

I used them for the first time this year and so far have been pleasantly surprised. I paid $9.95 for the state, fed was free and nothing else. Both returns were accepted and I hve my state back already. so far so good.

Okay, I'm sold! Thanks for the info.
I think I'll run the #s through TurboTax also just to make sure they match.

We've used Free Tax USA for several years and have had no problems at all.

Yep...we've used it for several years. I'm not a "tax" person, and I am even able to do the program, its very easy and they walk you through everything...I just sent in my taxes today through them as a matter of fact. Usually get our refund back within 8-10 days.

They will do your state too, but that costs $9.95 to file that way. (but you get it back within a week)

Also they save your info year to year, so you don't have to keep entering in that stuff (ssn's, last years info, etc..)

It didn't cost us anything to file our federal with them this year. (we make pretty good $ too..it used to be free if your agi was under $50K , we're well over that and still didn't have to pay the fee.)
