free refrigerators in moderates

Do all of the moderates now have free refrigerators?

No, they are still being distributed. They are free whether they are in the room already or not. Just hit the housekeeping button on the room phone and request one. They will deliver it to you.

HI! I've been trying to find out this answer for a while now..I was VERY happy to see this post...Ok..here's what happened to me.

I called CR to request a fridge (reservations for POFQ were made many months ago) SHE told me that it would still be $10 a night UNLESS the refrigerators were already in the room. So she told me to call again closer to time for us to leave and request one and hopefully by then they will already be supplied in the POFQ. I called the front dest of POFQ and didn't get any help.
So...should I call back right before we leave..or wait until we get there to get one. We MUST have one b/c we are getting groceries delivered including DS milk.

Until all of the refrigerators are installed, CR can't help you. They must tote the line about the $10. POFQ doesn't get your reservation until about 4 days prior to your arrival. I would call back then and talk directly to the front desk personnel and request the fridge. This is exactly what I did and had no problem (it was a great help during Jeanne). Good luck.

What size are the refrigerators? We are staying at POFQ next month and I requested a refrigerator, but cost wasn't mentioned. Will let you know if I am charged.

They are the dorm-sized fridges. no realistic freezer space (maybe a bottle or two of water could fit on their sides).

Is this some grand plan moderate improvement with a target date for completion? Like all mods will have a frig by xyz date? Do all deluxes including AKL and WL already have them? Thanks.

Yes, it is. All mods and deluxes are getting them.

I don't think anyone knows a specific finish date but since it is happening as we speak and has been going on for a little while already, it seems sometime this fall they will be finished.

You should call AKL or WL directly closer to your travel dates to see if they are already installed in all rooms. Forget calling CRO, they are only giving the official line "Ten dollars a night" for the time being.

I believe I read others posts that they received one free upon request at the resorts you mentioned, even if they were not yet installed in every room.

I "check" into POFQ on Sunday. I read your posts and called POFQ. Indeed they have put refrigerators in some of the rooms. If my room does not have a refrigerator upon check in, they told me to call the front desk and they will get me one FREE OF CHARGE! Two different people at the Resort assured me that this would happen. I have no reason to think that it would not.

Cool. They also took my room request... I was there in June and I know right where I want to be... the 2nd floor of building 4.

Once again the DIS boards give me an "edge". I don't know how other people do it.

We returned from a split stay at WL & AKL in Sept & neither had a refrigerator in the room but I called housekeeping & they sent it up at both resorts without charge. At the AKL the bellman mentioned I should call for the refrigerator but no one else mentioned it. If I hadn't of read these boards & known to call housekeeping I too would of been without the refrigerator at the WL at least.

So, are the value resorts getting these fridges too, or is it just moderates and deluxes? I guess it would make it one more reason to choose a moderate or deluxe.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but what I've read in the past in these forums the free refrigerators are only for Moderates & Deluxes. Our next trip we're planning on PO-FQ but then in Sept we're headed to the POP with our trusty collapsible cooler
