We went to the TE and bought a couple of the free refill cups this weekend. We had also renewed our annual passes, and went to MK to pick them up. While we were there we decided to go into the park for a while. While there, we tried to get the cups filled. I tried three places before I was finally told that the MK is the only park that will not refill them. I was a little tiffed. It would be good if they told you when you bought it that there were places that were excluded, instead of "they are good everywhere".

Sorry for the rant.

I didn't know there were any refill cups that you could use anywhere except the resort where you purchased them. It would be nice to have one.

Are you talking about the new blue 'year of a million wishes dreams, etc' mugs? Those are supposed to be good for refills everywhere? 1. I didn't know that, B. Way to jack up the refillable mug controversy by several notches, Disney. I bet CMs wish they would just get rid of refillable mugs all together*.

*Misspelling intentional; Airplane!

I must say I don't have the coconuts to try and refill my 1980s mug at MK:sad2:

Unless things have changed drastically, the only park I knew of that had any kind of refillable mug program was AK for those animal mugs they sold. No park has ever honored the refillable mugs from any of the resorts.

I agree fwildernessguy, I think the water parks had their own too...years ago. Don't know if they still do but we will be going to Blizzard Beach in October so I'll know then...gotta relive that Summit Plummit Wedgie (full-moon rising).

I'm sorry you were disappointed, but actually none of the parks will refill mugs. They are resort mugs and can only be refilled at the resort. It would be great if they would make park refillable mugs though!!

The water parks do have the reusable mugs but what you have to do is buy a new UPC sticker for the mug on each day you want to use it. When you want to get a refill, you need to scan the UPC (just like the price checkers at Target) to turn the drink fountain on.

i have never had a problem with a CM......but i due draw the line as to takin them to the parks:sad2:

I'm not disputing or denying this 'cause I don't know but check out paragraph 5 of the following link. Are they spreading misinfo or talking about the water parks I wonder?

Hmmmm.... it says "at various Disney parks". They must be talking about the water parks.

Unless they're confused with Universal! They have a refillable mug for $8.99 that can be refilled at certain restaurants in both parks all day!

The article does say if you are staying at one of the "all-star resorts", so maybe they have something special going on there.

And if you're staying at an All-Star Disney hotel, take advantage of this perk: You buy a refillable plastic mug on the first day and from then on, as long as you have the mug with you, all your drinks at the resort where you're staying are free.

Right here they are talking about the refillable mug program the results have. All the resorts have the program, not just the All-Stars.

Also, at various Disney Parks, when you buy a souvenir mug, it's refillable for free during the rest of the day.

I'm not sure what they are talking about here. Maybe they mean the refillable mugs at the water parks and I believe AK, which are refillable the rest of that day in the particular park it was bought at.

OP: What is the TE? AFAIK only the water parks, resorts, and maybe AK have any kind of refillable mug program. The water park and AK mugs can only be refilled in the park it was bought and only that day unless you pay to get a new UPC the next day. The resort mugs are good for your entire visit but AFAIK only at the resort it was bought at, though I've read that might have changed and now can be refilled at all resorts.

TE is short for Trails End, the buffet at the Fort Wilderness Resort, one of the places at FW that you can refill your mug.

So it was a resort mug. Those mugs can only be refilled in the resorts, not any of the parks. At least that's true if they haven't totally changed the mug policy since my last trip back in 2003.

I believe this is in regard to the new YOAMD mugs which look the same regardless of where they are purchased and are phasing out (or have already phased out) the resort-specific mugs. In which case, buy it at TE but fill it at AK, BC, wherever since they are all the same (just don't be a'pool hoppin' while you're visiting elsewhere with that mug! :lmao: )

As for parks, I thought I did read that the YOAMD mug will be refilled at certain places at certain parks but that's about as specific as I dare to attempt :)
