Our loss, your gain. After a great winter for me, bad for planes, its bite us in the behind. We were supposed to be checked in yesterday, but cancelled flights 10 hours driving on a route that was supposed to take us 2 hours and multiple changes, we are now flying late tonight.
Member services has been nothing but great for us. Changing reservations where they could, being able to cancel dining plans that were booked and were under the day cancelation policy without being charged. Crediting our dining plan that we couldn't use. Just helping us out where ever they could. But there is one that they couldn't and I understand, we had to put into holding 18 points, nothing else we could do with them.
The catch is we have a April use year so these points go by by in 2 weeks. I know that booking this close to our use year is like this, but 90% of our vacations are in sept, oct, so I like our use year. We want to send some pixie dust to someone else. If you can use these 18 points before the end of the month pm me, no catch, no cost, just enjoy
The only thing I would like confirmation on is that this transfer is for the 2013 year, it wouldn't affect my 2014 year? Also never done a transfer so whoever gets them will have to walk me thru it.
I will check every 1/2 hour on my pms so be patient I will get to them, don't want to goto waste.

If we didn't already have our airfare booked, I'd add a day to our trip and take them off your hands ... we also have an April use year and take our trips in September.

Not sure you can transfer holding points...will look it up and let you know. And graf, you have to have a certain # of post count before you can PM (I think 15???).

I suggest you call MS and ask for a supervisor. In Hurricane Sandy we had to cancel our trip just under two weeks prior to check in date. They put my points back in their original use year (they were borrowed). If you are arriving late due to a storm, and your flights were cancelled due to same reason, I believe there's a storm policy with DVC.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I think you may just be able to get those points back. Best of luck, kudos to your generosity and sending pixie dust your way....
