Free Parking for GCH Regular Room booked under Disney Collection?

Hi Experts,

Just booked GCH regular hotel room under disney collection. Just wondering if we get free parking like when we book villa under our points?

I suspect not but wanted to check.

Great question as we just booked there too for three nights in October because we did not want to take the chance of the wait list for the vgc not coming through. They were totally booked at the 7month mark. I'd like to know too.

I would guess yes, since it is considered a DVC reservation. When I stayed a PPH on points I did not pay for parking.

Call member services and ask, or e-mail.

I've stayed at DLH twice on points and have been told that parking was included in my reservation. Can't imagine it would be different at the GCH.

We did not get charged at the DLH when we were there last May. When we were leaving the parking lot, we just showed our room key that had DVC member printed on it.

I guess I missed that the Grand Californian rooms had come back on line for points booking( I know it had been announced but didn't know it had gone into effect). Is there a point chart somewhere showing points per night for this?

Yes. I stayed in a studio last November on rented points, and parking was included. They also print "DVC" on your Key to the Magic card, so you can take advantage of DVC dining discounts!

Thanks George! I will definitely not explicitly request any perks meant for members, but that would be added bonus. For your Key to the Magic (KTTM) card, did you carry around separate park tickets or can you integrate them into your KTTM card?

My office has Disneyland ticket discounts, so I'll be bringing my tickets with me.

I don't believe park tickets can be added to a KTTM key/ID at DLR, unlike at WDW.

At DLR you keep your tickets/passes separate from your key. Also if you get the dining plan, (which is a terrible value for most people [its just vouchers, use all the value in each sitting or lose them ... really only useful if you're going to do all character meals]) they cannot be added to your hotel key either.

The only thing your hotel key is good for is opening the door to your villa/pool/viewing deck/laundry room/self-parking and charging privileges if you so elect. Oh, and you'll need to show it for Magic Mornings or to use the GCH private entrance to DCA for busy times. Even the kids' keys, in theory, though for us showing one per family has been sufficient during not busy times.
