Hello: If I stay at a downtown disney hotel do I get free parking at the parks. Also I have AAA or DC. I will have hopper tickets as well. Anybody know? Thanks,

Deb.

No, only wdw resorts have free parking. Downtown disney hotels guests do not have free parking at the parks. Annual pass holders also have free parking.

there are 7 hotels at downtown disney that are called Official Walt disney World properties the Grosvenors Resort the Double Tree Guest Suites, Coutyeard by marriott, travelodge Hotel, Hotel Royal Plaza, Wyndham paalce Resort, Hilton resort. I would call one of these hotels and ask them I think you can park for free.

Those staying at Downtown Disney hotels do not get free parking at the parks. Just being a DC member does not work either. Free parking is available to those staying in a hotel on the WDW property which includes the Swan/Dolphin and Shades of Green which are not run by Disney but does not include the DD hotels. Free parking is also available to annual pass holders. As to AAA, I believe it has a program that if you purchase your park hopper tickets through AAA (discounted price), you get to park at special AAA designated areas in the parks which are closer to the front but you still need to pay the parking fee unless you are staying on site.

We stayed at the Grosvenor last year, and we did NOT get a free parking pass.
But, on two days we went to breakfast at the BW, then left our car in the lot and took the boat to MGM and walked to Epcot.

That sounds like a good idea. We want to go to the boardwalk area and walk around, so I guess will go over for supper and walk around after.

If you are not a registered guest of that resort, you will be allowed a max of three hours. I also think they charge to park there in the evening, even for self parking. (If they do'nt, they should!)

Personally, due to the abuse, I wish the BW would charge all but BW guests to park there. I am a DVC member, and the BW is my home resort. I am absolutley fed up with the people who park there and then those of us staying there can't find a parking spot. On my last trip ,we watched every morning as people loaded for bear with backpacks and such walked in from the lots starting at about 8:ooam, and it was amazing how the lots cleared right after Illuminations.

Hi Anne:

Sorry, I never thought of it that way, but if we are eating in the restaurant at the boardwalk, where are we supposed to park? Is there a different parking arrangement for people coming to dine there?

I don't mind paying my way though. But i can certainly see how someone who has paid alot of money to be a DVC owner would feel. I would feel the same way if I could not get a space to park in.

Maybe I will wait until our april stay at the dolphin to visit the boardwalk restaurants and area.

Disney considers the Boardwalk area a destination in and of itself. Guests visiting the Boardwalk are welcome to park there. Recent visitors to the BWV have reported that the guards have been directing those who are not actually staying at the BWV or BWI to the lot across the street. This allows those who are actually staying at the hotels to park in the lot(s) nearest to the hotel. This is especially true in the mornings when there really isn't all that much happening on the boardwalk. Nearly all of the "parkers" at that time are really going to EPCOT.

If you are coming to have dinner in one of the Boardwalk restaurants, to go to one of the clubs or just to enjoy the Boardwalk activities/entertainment, you should feel free to park in the BW lots. Just be prepared to park in the lots that are farther out - i.e., across the street. If the walk is too long for your party, you can valet park for $6 plus tip. As far as I know, they are not giving out 3 hour passes to people trying to park at the Boardwalk.

I am also a DVC member and I totally agree with Anne about those who park there and go to EPCOT or MGM. IMHO, that is rude and inconsiderate. However, as long as Disney continues to reserve the nearer lot for hotel guests, I guess I really don't care.

Enjoy your trip!

Carol

Okay thanks carol.

We have stayed at the poly many years ago and I seem to remember people parking there and grabbing the monorail, and hubby had a difficult time getting a parking spot. I remember thinking it was not fair as we were paying to stay there.

I am really looking forward to seeing the boardwalk area. Bye,

Deb.
