I wasn't sure where to put this that it would be noticed by people looking for something for their older children (or themselves!) to do while self-isolating so POOF new thread!
Have you ever wondered how theme parks come to life? Imagineering in a Box allows you to explore different aspects of theme park design, from characters to ride development, as you design a theme park of your very own.

I found a site that my library published where you can virtually tour museums around the world. Should I add it here or should I make a new site for what to do with kids?

NO, go ahead and add it!! I'll change the title of the thread to represent any and ALL online opportunities for when Netflix & Disney+ no longer cut it! I stumbled across several in the last few days and I'll add them when i can.

Discover the universe. They will do a live video of 30 minutes video everyday. Both in French and English. https://www.discovertheuniverse.ca/post/astro-at-home

For the kids that want something short (approx.10 minutes) and fun to practice their French, the Granby Zoo is posting a live FB video every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11am on their Facebook page and their Instagram. Today was their first video on mammalian teeth. My animal lover loved it.

Oh my gosh , you guys are the best !!! I have a bright and inquisitive 16 year old who will need all the extra learning we can provide. This is gold !
Nevermind that I am a museum and history fanatic and I will love looking at these with him !

I will see if kiddo wants to do the imagineering one. He was up early and at 9 came to tell me ot was time to start our epic homeschooling. Creative time is up first but we dont have supplies so he is doing a slideshow on covid 19. But I think imagineering would fit the bill. Next up is active time, I need a nap already!

Some good sites here. Thanks!

I just found a list of grade 6 level English vocabulary. I tested DD11 on 30 words. Ooof. Not pretty. I know she's in French immersion, but geesh. I plan on printing out all types of math sheets for her tomorrow at work, and do spelling tests everyday. We are also going to walk for 20-30 minutes each morning and afternoon as if she's walking to / from school and play bball at lunch.

She is already going crazy being bored, which means I will just go crazy LOL

I want my kids to improve their written English since their comprehension of written and spoken English is pretty good. The level they teach at school (second language) is too basic for them. Any recommandations? I was thinking at starting with grade 1 for my 2nd grader and maybe grade 3 or 4 for my 5th grader?!?

I hate to tell you this but FI kids have poor spelling & grammar in both languages 😩

A big hit in our house has been Mo Willems lunch doodles (they can be found on youtube). Cosmic Kids Yoga has also been a good one (I've got elementary and preschoolers), we are struggling with physical activity around here with hockey and school abruptly ending and it still being so cold outside. I've heard good things about the youtube channel Art for Kids Hub too.

Mentioned this in another thread, but the instagram account BusyToddler has great ideas for the toddler to kindergarten set. My 4 year olds spent almost an hour independently giving their dinosaurs a bath in a "toy wash" station.
