Free Manatees from extinction

I'm asking my mom to let me adopt on when she gets home from work. I'm trying to decide who I like best!

You know, I love manatees and I think this is a great idea, but don't think the deceptive thread title is warranted. Anyone who likes manatees will open the thread.
I was not going to say anything. But now the OP keeps hammering about it. If people want to do this (and I'm adopting one for DD#2's BDay this next week) they will--everyone has priorities, don't make them feel guilty if this isn't one of them.

My intention is not to make people adopt Manatees, that is a personal choice and I agree that everyone has priorites, it is just to make them aware of what is happening to them. That is why I feel strongly about it

Sorry, but changing the title of this thread to "free passes" is just not cool. No idea what your original title was, but it was enough to get me, a manatee lover, to open it. I'm sure people who were interested did read.

If that was the case then it showed what little interest is shown, in 24 hours just 120 people looked at the thread with constant bumping, then when the title is changed an increase of nearly 400% in 8 hours, it seems such a shame that there is such little interest in an animal which is just as much a part of Florida as Disney. Or could it be that they dont care or dont know what a Manatee is?

Well, one of those additional 200 looks was by me. I looked when the thread had the manatee title, then I saw the new title and thought, "oh no she didn't!" So I clicked, and by jove, she did!

Thanks for changing the title back. I think this is a very worthy cause. In addition to adopting for my kids, this is also a great Christmas gift idea for the person who has everything.

Unfortunately as I said earlier, people are either not interested in reading about an endangered animal or dont know what a Manatee is. Only 40 people have looked since changing the title and no bumps except for those who commented against my actions earlier. I suspect if I did a post on how to make better muffins I'd get thousands looking, still cest la vi.

True, but I still don't think the means justified the end. Bait and switch is just plain rude. If people want to read about saving the manatees they know they have the option, just like the seals last week.

Ironic how a member here pretended to be someone or something he is not, admits to it, then still gets greeted here with open arms and pixie dust and has not even done what he has claimed to do or be involved in - animal activism. This is my conjecture, of course.

Then we have this poster who yes, did have a teaser post title (

) and posts about a legitimate animal rights concern and yet gets criticized more so than the other poster who has done nothing except entertain us .

Just thinking out loud...
