Free KSC Tickets

I know there are several postings on the DCL thread but none here. Did you know you can receive 4 free tickets to Kennedy Space Center by requesting from your Senator or Representative's office. There is a limited number of tickets reserved each day for Congress so put your requests in early (no earlier than 6 months). We just received confirmation from Sen. Warner (VA) for our family this summer.

Yes, we did this two years ago and it was wonderful! The tickets we received were for everything at KSC (bus tour, movie, etc.). Enjoy!

When I inquired about this to our Senator a year and a half ago, I was told that they could NOT get us tickets for KSC. Just for the Washington DC sites. Maybe I should try our OTHER Senator's office next time!

Here is the body of my e-mail

Friends of ours were able to obtain tour tickets from their representative and his NASA congressional liaison.

Their tickets included:

> admission to the grounds, including all exhibits and shows
> bus tour, including observation gantry, international space station center, and Apollo Saturn V center
> opportunity to see both IMAX movies (I'm not sure what "opportunity" means)
> visit to the astronaut hall of fame
> tickets valid for two days of admission

She told me she contacted her Congressman 6 months in advance because NASA only has a small number of tickets alloted for these requests.

We would like to visit on ______________. Below is a list of names in our party.

I sent a note both to my Senator and Congressman. I was surprised that I heard from the Senator's office. Most of the other posters went through their Congressman's offices. Not as many constituents requests with the representatives. I guess I got lucky and it does not hurt that it is an election year. Trying to make the voters happy.

I had seen this on the cruise thread a few months back and sent an email to our local congresswomans office. After a few emails back and forth I just got confirmation with our tickets - which like a previous poster said, includes everything!!! Bus tour, IMAX movies etc. We got 2 adults and 2 children. And the tickets are good for 2 days, though I don't think we'll need two days.

We were asked to pick a specific date within the next 6 months. Apparently they will only give tix within that 6 month time frame. I picked a date in August and they are good for 2 days admission to be used within 7 days of that first day we go. Your best bet would be to contact your local office because this was a process anyway - and May, June and July's tickets were already gone.

I've emailed our congressman twice within the last 2 months and have not even gotten a reply. The sad thing is that I do support him and think he does a great job in our community.

We spent one day - it was a full day. We went to KSC then over to Vero Beach at the DVC resort.

One note: there is a food court area at KSC, but it was pretty pricey. The food was typical pizzas, sandwiches, drinks, chips, etc.

I just requested tickets from my Congressman on April 26 for our October trip and got a response yesterday that our tickets will be there waiting for us.

Two years ago we requested and received 7 tickets (DH, myself, 3 kids, my parents). There were no problems and nothing was said about a limit of four tickets. We requested tickets in January and our trip was in May.

How far is Vero Beach DVC resort from KSC?

It was about a 90 minute drive. We were staying at SSR for our trip, spent one day at KSC and made arrangements to use Vero Beach DVC facilities and their beachfront one night. We showered, etc., ate at the Vero Beach DVC and drove back to SSR that night (very, very late).
