I don't know if this has been stressed on here or not, but our Interval accounts actually aren't bad considering that they're complimentary for resale owners. Obviously the exchange options are bad, but the getaways inventory is the same as my Marriott Interval account and Orlando isn't blocked. A lot of times Marriott Grande Vista, Marriott Harbour Lake and Sheraton Vistana Villages will have pretty cheap accomodations and are high quality resorts. If you are short on DVC points and want to stay in Orlando longer, this works perfectly. I'm seeing a bunch of weeks for Sheraton for only $372/week in a 1 bedroom (it's a 4 star resort). Also, we get unlimited guest certificates, so you can send friends and family with no extra cost.

There isn’t geoblocking of Orlando resorts? I thought there was but maybe that was just RCI.

Really? This is really intriguing. Where do we find details and how to login and use this? Somebody ought to do a write-up in this. This could be valuable.

It is possible we haven't seen the geoblocking kick in yet or perhaps it only happens on new deposits. I know in RCI there was a regional block where other Orlando timeshares couldn't trade into DVC. The same was expected to be true of DVC and was mentioned in the II Buyers Guide for DVC. When the first DVC deposits hit Interval International, they were not blocked and we actually traded in to SSR with our Marriott's Harbour Lake week. We are now seeing new DVC deposits hitting Interval International and I am no longer able to see them with our Orlando Marriott deposits. I have a way to get around it using our Grande Vista ownership, but it seems Interval International is incrementally making changed with DVC. So it is possible we could see a geoblock return for Orlando resorts. I say take advantage of it while you can in the event they institute such a block.

I noticed that too. I can't see SSR unless I use Ocean Pointe or Beach Place Towers as my deposit, which is why I'm going to add on Grand Chateau when prices drop in the next year (from recession) instead of another Grande Vista. It's a pain in the butt staying more than 1 night in the DVC studios because I basically have to bring an entire kitchen with me because I refuse to pay Disneys prices on their mediocre food. In the RCI days, the SSR/OKW 1 bedroom deposits were my go to.
