Has anyone stayed at BWV recently, and gotten the free Internet connection? I have read elsewhere that DVC was doing an equipment upgrade before they changed to free service and it might not start until after March 1. Anyone know?

I am the SSR right now and according to them it is not going to be ready for a while. We are paying 9.95 a day.;) I would think it wouldbe the same at the rest of them.

There is no free internet yet. The official word is sometime in "spring" with no specific date specified.

well "spring" better be before I get there at the end of April.

We're staying at AKV in July and my husband checks in with work everyday and works remotely. He complains every year about having to pay at Disney so for my and my kids' sake, I hope it's finalized by then. (otherwise we'll have to listen to him for another year. :rotfl:

It was not free at BCV or AKV last week, and I was kind of ticked off. We used our developer points to do a big extended family get together, and I had told everyone that internet was going to be free.

I'm sure there was some kind of fine print I didn't read when they said they were giving us free internet in 2009, but still...

Just call me Grumpy.

I read in some of the other post that on the Boardwalk near the big river grill is free

We stayed at BWV last week and it was not free yet. We still aren't positive how to get free wi-fi at Big River Grille.

In the end we had to pay which was ok since we only bought service so we could check on our pug who was at a "spa" all week. They have a video webcam on their lodging website she stays at and we went online to make sure she was having a good time.

When I was staying at BWV in January, the Big River network showed up on my network list. I used it for free from my room but had to sit on the balcony and it wasn't too fast (we had a BW view room). That was also the week that there was a big tech convention and I ended up mostly using another network that I assumed was set up by someone attending the convention. I am going to be at BWV again soon and will be interested to see what I can find. If I end up paying, I guess I will probably just do every-other-day. I am among those who is bothered by the fact that so many other accommodations outside of WDW provide free internet but DVC members are still paying.
