Before our trip in late October, I had signed us both up for the ESPN Zone MVP program. For that program we received a card with some points (which we didn't use) and we were also supposed to receive a free cooler. Well, they were out of the coolers and the lady told us they would mail them to us when they came in. I honestly didn't expect to receive them because we literally just wrote our name and address down on some scrap paper and gave it to the lady.

Well, to my suprise there were 2 packages from FedEx inside the door this evening when I got home and inside were the ESPN Zone Mini-coolers! They'll make some nice Xmas gifts for some of the sports nuts in the family.

For those going soon, you don't have anything to lose. If you sign up for the MVP program you don't automatically get signed up for any magazine subscription or anything. I forget the specifics, but I think you need to wait until at least 30 days before your trip before you register. Then all you have to do is print-out the email confirmation they send and take it to ESPN zone in DTD and on the first floor, when you enter, go to the gift shop on the right. They'll get you signed up, give you the card with the points, and your cooler (if they have it in-stock).

Enjoy!

You can register by going to ESPNzone.com and clicking on the MVP section.

However, I just went there and the ESPN cooler isn't listed as a special sign-up perk anymore. Now they are offering the following:

-Priority Seating (starting December, 2005)
-40-point MVP Club member game card for use in the Sports Arena
-3-month trail offer of ESPN the Magazine (not required)
-60-day trail of Insider on ESPN.com (not required)

If you won't be going for awhile, you have to wait until at least 30 days before you would arrive to signup. The vouchers expire for the perks after 30 days. They might add more perks for your trip. Otherwise, if you are going and like playing the "sports games" take advantage of the 40-point card, and also get the $10 ESPN points if you purchased your DL tickets with that perk.

Enjoy!

We did this (after a tip here on Disboards!) when I went through Vegas in July. Was able to give the points to a fellow Diser, as I didn't use them.
Anyway, just one "note", while the ESPN Zone cooler was pretty snazzy looking, they leaked all over the place! We drove from Vegas to San Diego on our trip so we thought the coolers were a great ide. However, by the time we got about half way there the entire back seat was soaked. We used plastic bags inside for the ice while we were there and on the way back. We tossed them out once we got to the rental car return. I was kind of disappointed, because I was planning on the cooler for my DH. But it was free, so I can't complain all that much. I would be cautious about giving as x-mas gifts though!
