free disney dining? sorry off topic!

Sorry for being off topic but I have a quick question!

I have noticed a lot of you mentioning free disney dining at your disney vacations and was wondering how you got that or what it included? Also, I know that sometimes they offer disney dining only when you book room and tickets, can you purchase a disney dining plan just by booking a room reservation because I have a seasonal pass.

You can purchase the disney dining plan at any time if you purchase a package. It really helps out a lot and many ppl enjoy it (My family has dont Disney a lot and out of experience I would never do Disney again without the Dining Plan). However they are running a special (which they have been doing the past few years)-- where you can get the free Dining Plan in August and September (im not sure of the dates but you can check on www.mousesavers.com and it will have them). You must do a package deal though. Hope that helps!

It sounds awesome and I'm actually going in August! Let me just make sure I understand this right though... so unless I get a package (which means buying tickets and hotel) I can NOT get the Dining Plan? And there is no way to actually purchase the plan regardless? That really stinks because I just renewed my pass and I could have waited and just got a regular ticket had I known. That doesn't really make sense to me that they would only let certain people get the dining plan and not offer it to other people, like me! lol So you get so many meals a day? That would be so convenient!

No you can still get the dining plan-- you just cant get "free dining"-- that only comes with a package. You can pay seperately for the dining plan.

The best thing to do though to get free dining is to buy a one day ticket for each of you with your rooms to make a package, then save those until it's time to renew your pass next year, and apply the price of that one day ticket to your next pass. Lots of people have done this.

Okay... so I am still confused! I'm sorry I'm being the stupid newbie here... lol... I'm usually very knowledgable about Disney I promise (or at least my friends tell me I'm obsessed... )! But, I went to the sites you showed me Maggimus (thanks!) and I still couldn't figure out how you purchase it if you already have tickets and are not planning to buy additional ones. Disprincess- I could buy additional ones, that's actually a really cool idea to put it towards the cost of a seasonal pass renewal but I'm just wondering if there's another way because if I do that I have to pay full price for a ticket and a hotel room, when I usually either get a Florida Resident or Passholder discount on the hotel (stayed at Pop Century for $59 a night over Christmas- unbelievable huh!)

Sooo, if any passholders out there have done this let me know because I'd love to find out how!
