Free Dining?

Not sure if anyone here can help me, but I'm hoping so!

I'm renting points in December at OKW, no tickets/dining etc, since we alreayd have tickets. I just saw the new FREE DINING for Disney Visa, and wondered if we would be able to do this? I realize we'd have to have tickets to have a "package", which is fine, since it would still be worth it to have free dining.

I've emailed the person I'm renting from but I'm impatient and wondered if anyone here might know the answer.

Thanks in advance, and if this is a stupid question I apologize. I've never rented points before and don't know all the ins and outs of stuff like this.

DVC members and renters staying on points don't qualify for the "free" dining promotion.

The dates for Free Dining are 8/24-9/20/08 so it wouldn't apply to your December reservation anyway.

Free Dining is only offered as part of a full-price, paid package through Disney. Those using a discount for their room (AP, AAA, etc.) or using DVC points are not eligible. You would have to book the package through CRO (or, perhaps, a TA) and it would need to include your hotel room (at rack rate), and a MYW ticket for at least one day. Keep in imnd that "Free" DIning really isn't free. Disney is still making money off of the rack rate hotel rooms. In addition, it is also offered during prime hurricane season and is a marketing tool to get guests into unsold hotel rooms.

Well actually there is a new Disney Visa offer for Free Dining in December. And the dates do apply.

Thanks for the answers though! I pretty much figured that we didn't apply, but was hoping!! oh well!

Wondering what the dates are for the Disney Visa offer - this means Disney is having trouble filling rooms for those December dates. Although it will not impact DVC points reservations, it could mean the parks will be less crowded this year during that time, than they were last year. That would be good news for DVC members, and not so good news for Disney.

www.mousesavers.com has the details on the new deal.

However just because dates are listed, rooms are not always availalbe.
I have a weekend in Oct booked offsite and I decided to try for this deal. Even though it's in the "date" period, no rooms at all!
