My boss had told me that if staying on Disney property in the fall that there was some sort of dining perk available...such as meals for free. Does anyone have info on this? Thanks for your help!!!

free dining is a vacation package that is offered if you book very early in the yr. this year it was earlier than in the past. you have to specify this package when you book, & there is no guar. that it will be offered again. keep your eye out early 2008 for next year just in case.

BTW welcome to the boards!!!:goodvibes

Free dining is a marketing incentive to inspire guest to once again vacation during the heart of hurricane season. You see a few years back..guest experienced a hurricane first hand from the perspective of the Disney resorts...confined to their rooms or designated area(s). Not too fun. Consider many guest vacation during the same time each year, many decided to avoid this time of year in the future. Disney now provides an incentive to get attendance higher. The program is not exactly free, since you do pay rack rate of the room. Even considering the rate it still provides a discount on meals for most guest. The incentive is large enough that guest are willing to risk the weather factor to take advantage of the free dininig plan.

:welcome: to The DisBoards! Disney has offered their Dining Plan for "free" 3 years in a row now. Guests were given 1 TS ("sitdown") meal, 1 CS (counter/quick service) and 1 snack for "free" for each night of their stay. Normally, the plan would be about $38 per night for adults (10 and over) and $11 for kids. Tax and tip have been included. The free dining promotion is going on now yet the deadline to book has past. There is no certainty that it will be offered again for 2008-yet you never know! Although there have been "significant" changes to the Dining Plan for 2008-that you can read about more here on the DisBoards or on Disney World's official site. Just stick around here-the DisBoards is most definitely the place to find out about free & discounted promotions in Disney! Enjoy your stay here-yet be forewarned-The DisBoards are highly addicting!! :cool1:

There IS a Bounceback Free Dining Offer going on right now to WDW resort guests willing to book ahead for next summer :goodvibes - here's the info per mousesavers:

Bounceback Free Dining Promotion
This offer is available ONLY to guests staying at one of the official Walt Disney World resorts between 8/31/07-9/28/07.

Using a special phone number provided on some resort restaurant receipts or on a flyer provided in some resort rooms (*added by me - ext 8844 from your resort room), you can book a vacation package for next year, for stays between 8/30/08-9/27/08, at a Walt Disney World resort with theme park tickets and receive the Dining Plan for FREE.

If you don't get the offer on a receipt or a flyer in your room, I recommend asking at the front desk.

There is a 3-night minimum stay requirement. Reservation for 2008 must be made before you check out and no later than September 28 to qualify. A $200 deposit is required at time of reservation.

Ok, I have a stupid question - where can I look for 2008 free dining?
We are planning a fall trip.
Thanks Disers! :disrocks:

Well, read Seahunt's post above and it will explain the bounceback program. If you are in a Disney resort now or will be prior to September 28, 2007, you can book Free Dining for next year (8-30-08 to 9-27-08). Otherwise, keep checking the Disboards. We won't find about Free Dining for the general public for 2008 for quite a while. Obviously, there is no guarantee it will be offered at all, but we can hope.

Yep what everyone said :cutie: - just to add, the last couple years the "normal" booking time for free dining for the same summer has opened for bookings at the first part of April, and is usually offered to Disney VISA cardholders first, then the general public.

So based on if they do the same thing this year ;) , if you won't be at a WDW resort and won't be able to book ahead (Bounceback) while the Bounceback program is going on, you will probably have to wait until next April or so to keep watching for it to be released again. Which is a l-o-n-g wait when you're excited to book something! :rotfl:

Just back from Pop Century, thanks to the boards I was aware of the bounce back for next year. There was nothing in my room regarding this, etc. I asked at the front dest upon arrival and was given the information.

When I made my ressie for next year, the CM told me of the changes for the DP for 2008. She also stated that Disney would not be offering the Free DP this year to the public. I asked what about AP and Disney Visa, she said no to Disney Visa as they just had their own big promo, not sure about AP, but said most likely no since My Way Tickets will be needed to get the FDP.

I am taking advantage of the bounce back for next year!
