Free Dining?

Can someone explain to me what free dining is (or was)? I never paid much attention to the details of this. Will this be available in 2007? When IS it usually available?

it was a package promotion offered in 2005 and 2006. In 2005, i think it became available for booking in June. In 2006, it became available for booking in April. In both cases, it was offered during hurricane season. I don't remember the exact dates, but Late August - early October. I think last year it was 8/13-9/29 or something like that. You had to purchase a package with the room portion at rack rate and a ticket for everyone on the reservation. It could be as little as a one day base ticket, but everyone on the reservation had to have the same package components. With the code, the dining plan was added on for free.

This year, it was offered first to UK residents who had to purchase length-of-stay tickets. From november something until 12/31, visitors staying on property had the opportunity to book a package for next August - September (i think 8/5-9/30?) with the free dining program.

If it is offered to the general public again is anyone's guess.

It's a promotion that has been quite successfully used to get people to book full rate room/ticket packages during hurricane season (usually offered for the months of August and September).

For the past two years it was available for booking to the general public. I think bookings were released in April last year.

This year, it has already been made available to guests from overseas and to guests already staying at a WDW resort in November and December (a "future stay" booking program similar to what they do on the Disney Cruise Line, when you can book your next cruise while you are on the ship for a discount.) For this reason no one is certain when or if it will be offered to the general public for booking.
