I have recently noticed it would be MUCH cheaper to rent some points and stay at a 2BR DVC location than keep our current Family Suite at ASMu, however, we really would like to keep free dining offer (9/27-10/3).....is this possible?

Please feel free to move this question if it is in the wrong place :thumbsup2

No, "free" dining is built into the price of those WDW rooms. So you don't get it at DVC....but you do get really great kitchens so you can just have meals in your room, which REALLY slashes the cost of a WDW vacation.

Thanks! I think we may wait and rent for our next trip in May, then.

Often you can get a DVC villa and pay for dining and it is still less expensive than rack rate through CRO. Maybe not a Value resort, but a deluxe for sure.

Keep in mind that when you rent from a DVC member, it is a private transaction between you and that member, so you don't get any of the Disney promotions. You WILL be eligible for all normal benefits of staying onsite - DME, EMH, free theme park parking, etc - but not any promotions or DVC member perks.

You can purchase DDP without buying park tickets, but other than that, everything else about DDP is the same.
