WHO is your "SOURCE"??

I am guessing again, and I could be totally wrong, that Knox's source is within DU and that their source is their sales manager at Disney. I assume that because my TA has heard the same thing and when I asked where she heard it from, her answer was from her sales manager at Disney. I told her I didn't know if it made me feel better or worse that the info of a fall promo not coming out til May or June was coming from a credible source! :rotfl:

I am hoping the info my TA got was wrong, but I'm not going to count on it. I am trying to get the last of my obsession out now before we leave for WDW tonight. I promised myself I will not obsess while on vacation - I will relax and let my TA do her job if something is released. I sent my kids all out to play so I could do my final obsessing in peace this afternoon. ;)

I can tell you this. My source is NOT within a travel agency. And Definitely has nothing to do with the DISBoards or DU.

this is whats posted today on WDW FB..."We're sharing a first look at our new Summertime Savings TV spot here before it begins airing on Monday. You can save up to 30 percent at select Disney Resort hotels on most nights May 2 through August 14, 2010."

Still no mention of FD.

Well I have decided not to worry about it anymore. We still do not have definate plans to go to either place. I went ahead and started booking ADR's in case we go to Disney. If we dont go...I will share them with fellow DISer's or cancel them. We did decide to take Amtrak to Orlando. It is so cheap to take the train so we are going to book our tickets with them tomorrow!

Wow I am so glad Im doing the bounceback this year:woohoo:
I wouldnt be able to handle the wait for the fd promo:eek:

If I remember things right, back in 2005 wasnt FD introduce in the summer?
Because I remember I was planning a road trip to penn. and virgina in the begining of AUG 05 and in the mist of planning our easy and cheap vacation I found out about FD and I changed our plans to disney because it was way cheaper then what I was planning. I booked my trip to disney about 5 days before we left on our road trip.

So to get to my point I think it is plausible that disney could come out w/ fd later on. Which I am hoping that they dont because I did want to tweek a few things to our res.

Oh, I just remembered another discount they've offered. Last year one of the Alice PIN codes was adults at kid prices. While that's not much of a savings on the tickets, it is a HUGE savings on the dining. This deal is great for families like mine where we're all paying adult prices right now. It becomes a very similar price to free dining with my particular family configuration and I bet people could easily upgrade their children to 10 on their reservations to get adult dining for no extra cost (you pay kid prices either way so why wouldn't you?).[/QUOTE]

What is an ALICE PIN?
TIA

Buy "summer" do you think that means end of August??

For Disney, summer ends in mid August. That's when the kids go back to school in many of the lower states.

Makes total sense what CanadianGuy is saying...

HP is drawing the hordes towards US/IoA. Summer is their stronger season and they are still trying to get the properties full one way or another. And putting out offers for fall will lure folks towards then, when the weather is nicer.

My view - the more offers that come out for the summer, the more offers we will see for the fall. I actually now are more optimistic. I think they'll be better than ever attract folks to stay in the properties longer.

I don't think we'll have room-only or %off discounts. It'll be more of the 4/3, and maybe even include dining (specially for the slower months).

I for one, would never go during the summer - my younger DS cannot tolerate the heat. We are concerned with us going the last week of September (POP with FD - bounceback). In fact, we'd rather go the first week of November.

My .02...

Isn't that what they already have pretty much?

And I'm gonna guess that your original reserrvation was on some kind of discount? Doesn't really matter.. CSR is a convention resort and often blocks off large portions of rooms for planned conventions making it 'appear' sold out.. and those rooms often open up later on depending on the attendance at the conventions..

Either way.. having that original reservation guaranteed you NOTHING on the new promo.. as per the post that followed yours.
I have noticed with Disney that they will tell you a particular resort is sold out...you can call every day and eventually, that resort will be reopen for bookings.

So......will it happen tomorrow???? What promo will come out??

Exactly. The "up to 30% off" deal isn't a new promo. Disney has been offering this deal for a week now.

Therefore, the fall promo (ie. free dining) should be annouced soon. :)
Not necessarily. Just because one promo has been around for a week doesn't mean they'll soon announce a fall promo instead of adding an additional summer promo. We've been fairly consistently hearing about a fall promo not being released until May or June. And we have no idea if it'll be free dining...we just hope.

I think we've all gotten so used to April release dates for FD (and the one March date) that many of us have forgotten that the promo wasn't even released until June the first year it came out. So we shouldn't be surprised if they did that again. I just personally prefer it NOW. :rotfl:

WDW's facebook status updated today with their "new promo" with the commercial they are rolling out tomorrow. It is the "up to 30%" deal.

I'm afraid the huge thing tomorrow might just be the marketing campaign for the deal they are running. Plus, they haven't released anything to Visa holders, so I wouldn't hold my breath tomorrow morning unless I wanted to turn blue.:sad2:

As we are a party of 13 traveling in for my dad's retirement and he is footing the bill for all of us to stay (his current choice and so far reserved: Wilderness Lodge). I would LOVE for free dining to be offered to save him money as he is dead set on paying. Question though... if on QS free dining is offered then can it be upgraded? Thanks... :)

And given that the Visa "Kids" promo is out there.. I would not at all be surprised if it was in some ways similar to that.

What Visa "kids" promo? Did I miss something? Sorry, this thread moves so fast, i can't search it all.....

Thanks to anyone that can tell me what this is and what dates it is for....

Just wondering why do they release FD to the UK way before the US? I dont get why they do that FD was offered at the beginning of the year for them just curious why they get more of a deal then the US?

Not to cause a flame or whatever

Because people from countries like the UK (and Australia) plan their holidays up to a year or more in advance as we are travelling a very long way to come, it is a lot more expensive with long haul international airfares to save for and we usually come to the us for three weeks to a month due to travelling so far, which requires a lot more planning, so offers are made available to allow time for planning and saving for long vacations :goodvibes

As an example, we are travelling the the USA in Sept/Oct for over a month, three weeks of that we are spending at WDW. We bought our plane tickets last year because of specials and booked our accommodation at WDW at the end of year.

Yeah, I saw it earlier today and was a bit disappointed. We have a Bounceback ressie booked but we have friends who have booked around the same time with the hopes of Free Dining. They are planning to be there Aug. 15 and there has been no announcement for those dates yet.

Fingers crossed that they release something tomorrow!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

This is the deal that was released last Monday. I have already seen some adds for it on TV.
